Sat Nam everyone,

I interested in knowing what the shelf life of ghee is? I store my ghee in the

refrigerator, it has been there for a while now, maybe about a year or so. It

does not smell or look nasty. I still have a lot left and I am wondering if I

should make a new batch.

Ghee has long shelf life, once it is properly covered. you do not need to put it

in the refrigerators.

It it does not have any water contents, it can then long for many years.

I am doctor here in MN and have very good knowledge of Ayurvedic medicines. And

many of the Ayurvedics are prepared in Ghee. If you have any more questions

regarding health, please feel free to contact me direct also. my email is

Thank you

Sat Nam,

Thank you Kumar

I a long time ago I made a lot of ghee (I used 5lb of organic butter) and it

went bad really fast when I left out. It started to stink and it stated to grow

all kinds of black stuff on it. After that I decide to store it in the

refrigerator.

If you burn all the water contents from butter, then it can last for years. it

will never go bad.
