Guest guest
Hi again Gururattan, Just wondering if you would mind discussing some other aspects of KY with me in relation to some benefits I'm looking for? I haven't read any of Yogi B.'s books yet but have been studying spiritual work for some time now and my past mentor has me following the works of Sri Nisergatta. Don't know if you are familiar with him, but Nisergatta teaches basically that you are a part of the " I AM " consciousness and that you are not the mind nor the body to identify with them is identifying with the false self. Also to deny all desires as fulfilling desires only breed more desires. And to just let fear pass you by as both states are from pleasure and pain -- from the mind -- which you need to let go if you are to get past living in the mind and move into the identity of the real self. I realize that KY's aim is also to move us into idenification with the real self but am not sure how it views the perspective of the body and mind. My problem has been that I work to do what Nisergatta says and find that I can like and accept all others so much better -- BUT -- my heart and throat chakra feel terrible. I feel like I am in a higher state of consiousness but do not feel " personal love. " For me this seems to be a problem. I have been reading Dr. David Hawkins " Transcending The Levels of Consciousness. " He mentions that real love is from the Divine and is not based on any outer condition basically. Was wondering if you have any insights you could share with me. As soon as I come out of the I AM consciousness -- the mind starts taking over with the big " ego " that drives me crazy since it seems to want to be on center stage in life and it hard to tame and overcome otherwise. Maybe you have some perspectives that could help me see things a different way that would eliminate the issue I have with the chakras while striving for unconditional love, moving out of the ego, and being merged with the " Real Self. " Thanks Gururattan -- appreciate all your doing!!! Christine
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Part of your confusion is that you are being given information about spiritual goals from 2 different paths. I have summarized the two below. KY s to the second approach. [1] Spiritual Quests to Find Our True Identity What existential realities are we trying to experience? There are two basic approaches to spirituality and our quest to find our true identity. (1) Spirit Good - Physical Reality Bad A traditional approach, which includes many Eastern religions as well as Catholicism and other Christian variations on the theme, value only Spirit/non-physical reality. They do not place spiritual value on our Earthly experiences. We are here only to prepare for the next life or to pay for our sins. This approach denigrates the body, thinks of the lower chakras as bad, and does what it can to escape the emotions, physical desires and temptations, and worldly experiences. Our true identity is Spirit. Our goal is to let go of and transcend any identification with our ego, body, gender or personality and merge back into God consciousness. Some modern spiritual groups also to the philosophy 'I don't exist.' I have actually heard some practitioners use this phrase almost as a mantra. (2) Souls Having a Human Experience A second approach values the human experience as part of the evolutionary process of souls to experience their transcendental identity and merge back into God consciousness. We achieve God realization through self-realization. This physical reality friendly approach values our earthly experiences, honors the physical body as the vehicle of our soul, and accepts the emotions as part of our soul's human experience. We seek to balance and align all our chakras so we can have an optimal human experience. We achieve wholeness by upgrading and then integrating the highest expressions of both the masculine and feminine polarities of our soul. We experience and honor our humanness and our unique energetic make up. By experiencing the Divine qualities of our soul, we find our true identity and are then able to merge with God. We are on the Earth plane to figure out how to embody Spirit and spiritualize matter, not to escape the many aspects of physicality.
