Guest guest
Stand on one leg, the opposite side of the nasal passage which is obstructed. Try this 2mins. Then start, don´t force breathing slowly on inhale and exhale, if you don force then eventually open up. -Chris jhundle2005 <jhundle2005 wrote: I have recently started Sodarshan Chakra Kriya. I am only up to about 2 or 3 minutes but enjoy the effects and fully feel I have chosen the right meditation. My only problem is I can not go for as long I would like to because of a stuffy right or left nostril. I tried to power through it a few times but this leaves me light headed. When the nasal passages are clear it is such a joyful experience. If anybody could suggest something it would be GREATLY appreciated. Guest guest
Is your first name or last name Singh? There are so many Singhs... Stuffy nose... If you don't do a full kriya first then at least do some warm up exercises prior to the sodarshan chakra kriya. Start with some back flexes, some light spinal twists, shoulder shrugs, and finish off with camel pose followed by baby pose... That usually clears my nasal passages. After these warm up exercises you can do your meditation. Blessings, Awtar Singh
Guest guest
Sat Nam, I usually find that if I have a stuffy nose, the best thing to do is hold the bridge of the nose quite firmly so that there is some pressure felt, then breath but don't force it. This normally helps to clear the nasal passages. Love and Light .
Guest guest
sat nam what i have found useful is gagging in the morning as soon as i get up in the morning.apart from removing all the s**t from the tongue and throat it opens my nostrils also.yes it really does that.and it has completely protected me from colds also(i was very very prone to cold before starting gagging and now i even take cold showers and its winter here now).just make sure to gag till u have water in your eyes and then really clean your throat.ask someone more experienced on how to do " gagging " .and u can also do some rounds of nadi cleansing pranayam before sodarshan ,just do it very slowly and it opens the nostrils.usually if u do sodarshan after doing a set that involves breath of fire, and movements with long deep breathing both the nostrils open up.thats what i have experienced Kundaliniyoga , chris charles <ccharles79 wrote: > > Stand on one leg, the opposite side of the nasal passage which is obstructed. Guest guest
Hi, Another way to clear a nasal passage is to lie down on the opposite side of the stuffiness. Give it about 10 minutes. Enjoying the community! On 11/8/07 7:45 AM, " yogahs " <kundalini_yoga wrote: > > > > > Is your first name or last name Singh? > > There are so many Singhs... > > Stuffy nose... Guest guest
Singh, So much great advice on this topic, I now have a list for the future! But, currently if I have a problem with a stuffy nose and want to clear it up quickly (albeit temporarily). I use Chinese accupressure. Place a fingertip in the crease where the nostril and cheek meet. Apply firm steady pressure and massage in small circle for abou 30 seconds on each side. You will feel instant opening of your sinuses and this lasts about a 1/2 hour. I find it works great - especially this time of year when simply going from warm to cold to warm and heated dry air may swell the sinuses.
