Guru Rattana, I have been practicing the Brainwave meditation which

you had recommended on your website, for 23 days now, and I am just

beginning my menstrual cycle. I practiced this morning anyway, but

wondered about the navel pumping during menstruation. Can you

enlighten me? I felt just fine afterwards, wonderful actually.

Shanti,

Dawn

Dear Dawn,

Sat Nam.

I have been practicing the Brainwave medation which

you had recommended on your website, for 23 days now, and I am just beginning my

menstrual cycle. I practiced this morning anyway, but wondered about the navel

pumping during menstruation. Can you

enlighten me? I felt just fine afterwards, wonderful actually.

* Then that answers your question. :+) You can pump you navel very gently and

still get a very powerful effect. The more internal we get, the more connection

we create.

It is the heavy navel exercises like stretch pose and lots of breath of fire

that we want to avoid. And it does depend upon each woman. But generally we

need to move the lower chakras and the energy in the belly. Because it is stuck

energy that gives us the cramps. Women need to ground, be more inner,

concentrate on the descent of energy (grounding and containing), not the ascent

(as in Sat Kriya and the locks.)

Being meditative is good, but also get some exercise so the energy moves.

Blessings,

Guru Rattana
