Guest guest
Sat Nam! Life is getting better I do declare. I've been sobering and practicing... it's quite interesting what happens! On step 3 of the heart chakra kriya: 3) Pull knees up to chest and lock them tightly with the hands. Now jump up and down for 1.5 minutes. Do I jump with my knees pulled up to my chest? like a...bounce... on my butt with my arms grasping my knees... or do I lock my knees and then stand up and jump...? Thanks

Thanks > Chad, I believe you are on your back when you pull your arms around your knees. You then make your back jump! You keep the position as described and move yourself in such a way as to propel your body up and down on your back. I have seen it done during my teacher training. I can't say I can do it. It was amazing to watch those who could. Blessings, Awtar Singh

I should clarify. The picture shows you sitting down, feet on the floor, sitting down. It then shows arrows pointing up and down near the back. I'm curious as to how this works. =) Blessings, Chad Furman
Guest guest
Sat Nam, the idea with this exercise (!!!) is that you are to exert yourself forcefully. Perhaps there are some yogis who can actually " jump " their bodies off the floor, but only a few. What Yogi Bhajan is asking us to do is to exert yourself forcefully ... move the head, push out with the knees, impel the body in a forward movement, it will (must) come from the navel point and exercise that area. Luckily, its only for a minute and a half! YB always said that you must do two things each day, laugh and sweat. This exercise gives you the opportunity to do both ... laugh at yourself as you attempt to do it and sweat in the exertion. Sat Nam!
