Guest guest
Dear Christine: I used to spend much time looking at the past. But after doing this for many years I met Yogi Bhajan. A new perspective started to emerge for me. He did not give much importance to processing. Instead he gave much importance to experiencing, accepting, remaining neutral and to doing one's sadhana. All this with the mantra: " keep up and you shall be kept up. " Whenever you look to the past to explain something you are experiencing now, you become mentally involved with the problem, but you stop the flow of experience. To me anger and any emotion is an opportunity to discover something new about me. That process heals the past without analysis! This is the way it goes: When you experience anger, forget where it comes from, forget it is called anger, and simply feel what your body is going through. Anger is simply a storm the body is going through because new information is coming in that confronts old habits. It may come from something rude someone says or a belief someone expresses that challenges yours, or something someone does not do... it does not matter. This confrontation may feel painful and may bring up old pain. But those aren't going to help you. Feel them and allow your focus to remain with your physical experience. Allow these old experiences to be released by acknowledging them and allowing yourself to experience the physical, simply feeling what the body is going through without judgment and allowing peace to come on its own. You will understand the beauty of this approach when you allow it to unfold. And your life will start transforming at a quicker pace as you become better at it. This is what flowing with life is. And when you flow with life you are no longer stuck! Blessings, Awtar Singh
