Guest guest
Hello Singh, Have you ever tried to practice yoga after a meal? Your stomach will rebel!! When we eat, our energy is focused on digestion. When we practice yoga our energy is focused on our entire being. Simply put, the two don't mix. Notice how it's not recommended to swim after eating because you can get cramps and even risk your life by drowning. Yoga goes well beyond exercise. Energy is being created and moved around, sometimes powerfully. The nervous system is at work opening and remapping through the physical body and the more subtle energetic and psychic bodies. It would be wise to avoid eating before and after yoga practice. Personally, I don't eat for two hours before yoga. If I'm hungry before, some tea with a little milk works for me but not too much. Afterwards, I might have a snack like fruit and then eat a bigger meal an hour after practice. Mornings are a good time to practice yoga because you haven't eaten yet. Hope this helps, Diana Bellucci, San Diego " In the yoga manual I have it says not to eat before or after yoga practice. But It doesn't give specific times or the reason why. Guest guest
In my experience, I always eat something before, kind of a snack, at least one hour before, cause I cannot stand my stomach roaring all the time while meditating, if my stomach is roaring for meal, I can't focus on the energy, I think it depends on each one of us, although I know is better not to eat at least 2 hours before, but in my personal experience I can't stand it, and the energy flows the same up and down, and I feel each chakra working very well. regards Aisha Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Best way to avoid this is to drink plenty of water instead of snacks. The water will fill up the stomach and you will not feel any kind of roaring. Works well with me. You can also consider taking some anti-acidity stuff to reduce the effect of hunger.. Guest guest
I take an anti-acid, but not every day, I think I have to take it every day, till this symptom goes away. The problem with the water is that if I take a lot of water before, or even a glass of water, I would be in the bathroom in half of an hour, and my meditation lasts 2 hours, and I don't move while meditating, I don't interrupt the meditation unless something urgent, cause I feel like in a " trance " or paralyzed by the meditation, I only move the hands to change the mudras. thanks for the tip.
