Hi,

Which kryias or meditations can help you to work on jealousy or envy?

Dear Ver Tips:

All of Kundalini yoga works toward this goal.

I would suggest the person who wants to do this work to feel the

sensations associated with jealousy and/or envy.

What does this feel like? There's a feeling of something tightening

the heart or the guts perhaps. One can feel deeper than that and allow

all the sensations freedom until the space of this tightness softens

up, lightens up, and dissolves. After a while the thickness of the

feeling, the intensity, seems like nothing... like it was just a

ghost... and it is! And it was taking the space of the person's true

and loving nature, like a veil of illusion.

Jealousy and envy are emotions that come up when we are unsure of our

self, when we don't know the self enough to be reassured by our own

destiny. But it is an indication, an opening to explore what that

might be...

And all of Kundalini yoga is about strengthening the true sense of self...

Now as the person who is grappling with jealousy or envy gets deeper

into the feelings of it, they may notice a particular aspect of self

they are unsure about... it feels like a weakness, or like a wound...

then that person may choose a specific yoga kriya to strengthen that

aspect of self. It may be creativity, it may be exploring social

skills, it may be anything really...

I am not fond of choosing a kriya to correct a weakness or heal a

wound. I am much more fond of choosing a kriya to strengthen an aspect

of self.

The Kirtan kriya (Sa Ta Na Ma) is always a good set to use to let go

of something and make space for something new.

Blessings,

Awtar Singh
