Guest guest
Have you had any experience with Kundalini yoga or diet that has halted the progression of Vitiligo?
Guest guest
Sat Nam! I can't say that it is exactly from the practice of KY that I am better of Vitiligo, but it sure helped, because I feel so much better since I've started practicing one year ago. Just one doctor get the diagnosis right for my white areas on feet, knees and some other spots. He said that Vitiligo can spontaneously remit (or not). He said that cutting some food of the diet can help. I was very young when I met this doctor and I don't recall all the foods he said to avoid (should have written them!), but some were the typical: coffee, dairy, alcohol, sugar, wheat, and he said I should avoid citrines too (orange, kiwi, etc). He gave me vitamin C as a supplement, of course. The doctor told something else important too. That Vitiligo is usualy connected to trauma or some kind of emotional shock. My mom first replied that I had nothing of those but then it came to her that my parents split up when I was 7 years old, and the spots apeared exactly that time... I loved my father so much and I was always got sick when he had to go out for long periods of time. Vitiligo was the way of my body express the attention I needed. It's all so logic and scary. The body respond precisally to the cries of the soul... There is a lot to say about auto-imune diseases and I am not a doctor. What I am writing is only my experience and due some investigation I did. I have RRMS (Relapse-Remiting Multiple Sclerosis) too. If we have the genetic predisposition to develop this kind of diseases and if the circumstances don't help (virus, infections, diet and weather), the result is not very friendly and auto-imune diseases can arise. Diet, KY and power affirmations are fundamental to change the odds, because we can change our mind frequence if we change the way we think, change our habits and all starts to change, because we can step out form the old patterns that are getting us sick. It is not a miracle and it is the hard way of facing things (it is so much easier to hand over the responsability of my health to my doctors and therapies, if something goes wrong I have the perfect excuse..), but KY as been a powerful tool to me to do a lot of little miracles everyday. I am doing a meditation to heal the physical, mental and spiritual bodies everyday, and I also do one of the interferon therapies that are used to halt the progression of the MS (it works only on 30% to stop the MS relapses, that's why generally the people of MS get worse over the time...). Fortunately there are also new therapies coming, maybe they will put a stop on this type of diseases! And this doesn't mean I will sit down and wait for them It has been a roller coasting of emotions, a lot of times I am really scared of trying to take my life and health back with my bare hands, but I will keep up! And if I look the Vitiligo areas on my body as a barometer of how things are working, they are disappearing over time, so healing is in progress I believe that as I am empowering and regaining conscience of myself I can stop and revert the degenerative process of the MS and Vitiligo and whatever-auto-imune-disease-that-can-arise. If it doesn't work, well, at least I tried and don't loose time crying over it. Call me crazy, well, it is better to be crazy than ill!! I try to take things on the funny side, so they don't get heavier Hope this helps a little. Take care, have an excelent 2008! Guest guest
Don'T give up. Vitiligo is something very special, and needs a lot of patience. I suffered from vitiligo many years ago and I could revert the process. Believe it or not, I could stop it, Im now a normal person that forgot vitiligo, and left it in the past for ever. it needs a good doctor and a lot of sun. The white areas, that seems to be spots-but they aren`t-, need to be " reactivated " internallly with some kind of medicine, because that spot is your skin, without colour, because your melanine is dead. The emotional shock is the very beginning, so meditation and some peace in your soul help the medicine and your skin to heal. you will see the white areas will recover little by little and the sun make your skin to be red, until it covers completely. If your skin is red when you are in the sun, this is because you can heal it. Of course after that I help people with this problem to solve it with the doctor. I had it in all my face., and it took me 3 years, almost 4 to recover completely. I live in Argentina and my phone number is 4461-3930. I speak English and if you need some help I could help. Obviously, I cannot write all the story in detail but i hope it will help to somebody else. There are a lot of things you must be careful if you are decided to say goodbye to vitiligo, and one is to be able to change your way of life..... happy new year
Guest guest
Thank you for the sharing your experiences with Vitiligo. I posted the question, as I've only been practicing Kundalini yoga for 10 months and in this 10 month period I've been able begin the healing process for years of childhood trauma. I'm still processing repressed emotions, still releasing, and fully dedicated to my practice I first saw a Dermatologist when I was 15; 21 years ago. He told me at that time that there is no cure and you just have to live with it and stay out of the sun. Which is what I did. As time passed and what used to bother me, I learned to accept and after beginning Kundalini yoga 10 months ago, I actually forgot about my Vitiligo. I have noticed this last year, that my body and spirit is craving sun. As I reflect back through my life, Vitiligo first started showing up after I moved from the South to Alaska. My Vitiligo is getting better not worse with age and I believe this has a direct reflection of my Kundalini practice and letting go. I am interested though in what medication that was prescribed for Vitiligo. My accupuncturist tried experimenting with herbs a while back. I am blessed to have a supportive Kundalini community and teacher that have supported me through this process. Blessings, Tara
Guest guest
dear tara: The medication, is very strong and as far as I know many people i was helping, couldnt stand it for long. This is why I prefer y ou consult a doctor. its name is 8-mop and I don´´t know if it is available in chemistries all over the world. This medication must be taken with the appropiate instructions of you personal doctor, you can burn yourself if you don´´t know, how it works. this medication reactivate your melanine , and with the help of the sun you will see how it covers the white spots little by little. This happens if you can have great " equilibrium " , physically and mentally and of course meditation is one the most important ingredients in this recipe. Think...that if the very beginnig of your story was an emotional shock, or you have it since very young you can revert the process, start listening your heart and your body, pay attention to every movement you do when healing the parts affected and you will discover the cure... kisses claudia thavard1 <tara_havard escribió: Thank you for the sharing your experiences with Vitiligo. Guest mandysimpkinss
I suffered from same problem too, but I was cured now. It was bad, and makes me very unhappy. I live in China. Here we use Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat skin problems, I went to many hospitals like this and tried many different treatments, but the effect is not very good until I went to a hospital in the North of China. It works, and now I am a happy person again, I am glad to share this with you, you may not able to go there, but you can talk to their doctors for advice.
