Sat Nam!

I don't think so.

There are just 10 Guru (from Guru Nanak to Guru Gobind Singh), plus the only

living Guru (the 11th as stated by Guru Gobind Singh), the Siri Guru Granth

Sahib.

I don't think you are understanding the question or the answer ...

to be a sikh of the guru is living our life according to the divine

precepts launched by guru Nanak ,the first Guru;

in that sense we all are the students of this way of being.

Now ,we have all the 10 gurus from guru Nanak to Guru Gobing singh

and our final :'Siri Guru Granth' our book .

we are all sikhs of the guru as we live our lives confronting it head

on and reminding ourselves of the true wisdom in that book.

Sat Nam!

We all can be students of this way of being but that is different from being

one of the Sikh Guru (as i supposed Sadhana Seva asked about Yogi Bhajan).

No one else, except the 10 Guru and the Holy Book, can be called

" Guru " ..........Yogi Bhajan is our loved Master, he gives you everyday

precious teachings, for sure he lived on the path of the Sikh Guru (he's a

son of Guru Ram Das), but he's not a Sikh Guru.

Guru Rattana,

I am not Kundalini Yoga student but I am member of this group because I like

various information from different spiritual groups. Your group gave me many

good information and I enjoy to read it.

I am curious to know:

Anyone who want to learn Kundalini Yoga should be accept Sikh faith? I know

Yogi Bhajan had Sikh faith and guru of Kundalini Yoga around the world. But I do

not understand why many of kundalini yoga students are accept Sikh faith and

change their name after learn Kundalini Yoga. They will not have deep

experiences without accept Sikh faith?

Many gurus teach different yoga techniques to wester people and people learn

their techniques without change to guru's faith or religion.

Can you please explain what is reason most Yogi Bhajan students accept Sikh

faith after they learn Kunalini Yoag?

Thank you very much for your help and time.

Sincerely,

Helen

No one force a student to accept Sikh faith if that happens is not for a

link with the pratice of Kundalini Yoga.

Yogi Bhajan is (as usual) clear about it: Yoga doesn't come and doesn't lead

to a religion and , especially, Yoga is not a religion.

To follow a religion, every religion, you need to have faith...........but

to know Yoga faith is not necessary; you need to experience it....this is

the key: the personal experience.....reading about Yoga or talking about

Yoga is not enough.....who wants to know it should pratice it :-)

And so is for Yogi Bhajan's teachings. He never forced people to follow Sikh

faith (it would be also the contrary of this religion since Sikhism doesn't

allow the proselytism if I remember right).

Where I pratice Yoga (and where I followed my Teacher Training) in the past

years and in the present I've met and knew hundreds people and just one is a

Sikh.

I hope my experience can help you.
