Guest guest
Ah Sat Nam, Brilliant question, brilliant. This isn't usually addressed, and insofar as I can find, neither is it address in the initial teacher's manual. However, Breath of Fire does raise the heart rate and consequently blood pressure. At what point might this be dangerous for those with high bp already.? I too await learned answers. Thank you for asking this oft-forgotten or overlooked question. Sat Nam, Ananda K. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Yes, there are other techniques for lowering high blood pressure, namely left nostril breathing and breathing in through a curled tongue and out through the nose, which is also recommended for cooling a fever. Guest guest
I may have high blood pressure and have made many changes to my lifestyle including diet and exercise. Are there any kundalini yoga exercises/poses you may be aware of to help bring down blood pressure? I practice kundalini yoga approximately once to twice a week, maybe increasing my practice? Thanks so much, Melissa
Guest guest
Melissa: Did you see a doctor about this situation? High blood pressure may be due sometimes to arteries being partially obstructed by cholesterol deposits, and then yoga would not help you too much! So make sure you don't have a physical condition that explains the blood pressure. If your blood pressure is due to stress or emotions, then yoga and awareness will help. Do yoga every morning to start the day. And also start paying attention to your heart and to what feels stressful. Give yourself time to know more about yourself, how you respond to life, and learn how to relax the stressful feelings or the emotions... Take some time regularly to breathe long and deeply. Guest guest
Sat Nam Kudos Melissa for your positive lifestyle changes! I'm a senior student of Chinese medicine and I do internship with real patients. At the clinic we see lots of them with HBP and here's a Kundalini breathing (I don't know the name) I have them do on the spot to lower their BP before I'm able to treat them, and I also give some recommendations for the long haul, which I'll include here. This breathing usually lowers their BP in a matter of minutes. - Laying down inhale big breath through the nose all the way down to the lower dantien (between 1st chakra and navel) and hold it for as long as you can. Then exhale very slowly and controlled. Do this for a count of a few breaths, say 5. Then, with the point finger of the right hand close the right nostril and breath only through the left one, for a few breaths as well. Mouth is closed at all times. This usually is good enough to ready them for treatment. BP lowers dramatically before I start. Now here's some dietary recommendations which really help. 1. Eat a few Walnuts everyday from now to forever more. You can do a 21 day-at-a-time-regimen. You would start with 1 walnut on night 1 2 walnuts on night 2, 3 walnuts on night 3, and so on until you reach 21; at which point you'll reverse it to 20 walnuts on night 22, 19 walnuts the next night, 18 on the next night and so on until you reach 1, and back again to 2, 3, 4 and so on. It's helpful to keep a calendar by the walnuts. This is extremely great for keeping the arteries very elastic akin to a 12 y/o! over a period-of-time. When the arteries are elastic, the blood pressure is normal because the arteries expand and contract as they should, when the heart pumps blood out and in. 2. Take Lecithin granules (avilable at your neighborhood GNC store) taken the way it's recommended on the label. This lowers cholesterol very quickly by softening deposits and ridding the blood off it dramatically, hence lowering BP because the passage is clear of obstruction. 3. Cantaloupe and garlic help the blood rid itself of the softened deposits. 4. Raw beet juice envigorates blood and has tons of wonderful properties for cancer prevention and treatment! 5. When you do your best/everything you're supposed to do on a continuous basis to better your health, turn it over to God, and let it be. Good luck, Glow melissagrisi <melissagrisi wrote: I may have high blood pressure and have made many changes to my lifestyle including diet and exercise. Guest guest
Lecithin granules is lecithin in granule form as opposed to capsule form. As to what is lecithin: a natural product extracted from the soy bean that's a thinner. Lecithin controls flow properties through the reduction of viscocity. singh_as wrote: D/Sir what is Lecithin granules
