Guest guest
Sat Nam! I'm new to this list and want to introduce myself and ask a question. Hello to all! My name is Rhiannon. I'm 43, married to a wonderful husband and have two amazing, grown sons. I work as a nurse in a small town in southern Illinois, USA. I've always been very focused on spiritual concepts, always seeking. My searching has lead me to the KY website and I'm now taking the free classes. I feel as if I've come home! This path is wonderful, bringing me feelings of peace and happiness. I feel it is a very beneficial path which will bring many blessings into my life; blessings on so many levels... I have done some yoga in the past as physical exercise, but now am incorporating the meditation and chanting aspects that I'm learning on KY. I see yoga is so much more than I knew it to be before this time. I've already become a vegetarian and have lost nearly 90 pounds since March 2007. Now I want to stop smoking cigarettes. I humbly ask for any advice you can offer me to accomplish this and also humbly ask for your prayers. Many thanks, Rhiannon
Guest guest
Is good to hear such commitment from you. I was a smoker about a 20 sticks per day for the past 14 years. And also a marijuana user for the past 3 years for everyday. I am proud to say i have stopped completely. I am clean for almost 6 months. The only thing that help me to get rid of the addiction is my will power and my concentration. No nicotine patch or gum. Just nothing. Is my will power. If I can do it so can anyone. Is nothing pure, easy and simple. Just remeber the best tool you have is your mind. Thank you and all the best. Guest guest
Sat Nam Rhiannon It sound like you have the guts to do this yourself. I was once a smoker 25yrs ago and remember the time and place and date I threw the last cigarette pack. Self-quitting is still the best way to do it and offers the best statistic. People become used to leaning on meds, patches, etc. The only thing to watch out for is replacement addiction, e.g., the refrigerator. I made that mistake! i did not realize increasing exercise would help and meditating a positive force instead of eating. It sounds like you are already on that path. Congratulations on your wgt. loss. Give yourself a big pat on the back. You are a strong person. Heartfully, Teresa Van Nuys, CA ************** Start the year off right. Guest guest
Dear Rhiannon, * thank you for sharing about how you are discovering yourself with KY and meditation. I have done some yoga in the past as physical exercise, but now am incorporating the meditation and chanting aspects that I'm learning on KY. I see yoga is so much more than I knew it to be before this time. I've already become a vegetarian and have lost nearly 90 pounds since March 2007. * wow. That is impressive. Now I want to stop smoking cigarettes. I humbly ask for any advice you can offer me to accomplish this and also humbly ask for your prayers. * Four part breath, which you can find in the free on one lessons. Do every time you want to smoke or just before, or several times a day. This will clear your lungs and smoke will be repugnant to you. Breath of fire is good too. You are in my prayers. Blessings, Guru Rattana :+) Many thanks, - Rhiannon Kundaliniyoga Wednesday, January 30, 2008 8:51 AM Kundalini Yoga Addictions/Guru Rattana Sat Nam!
