Guest guest
Sat Nam, I'm familiar with the two primary contraindications for Breath o Fire: do gentle BOF or long deep breathing if you are menstruating, and no BOF if you are pregnant. I've also heard that for those with asthma, BOF can be contraindicated. What about those with pneumonia? My understanding is that breath of fire can actually clear the lungs. So, is BOF ok for someone with pneumonia? Are there other contraindications I should be aware of? Thank You, Sarab Kaur from Vermont
Guest guest
Hi Sarb Kaur, You can do a gentle BOF through the 4th month of pregnancy and gentle is ok while menstruating, but it's also ok to avoid during pregnancy and/or moon cycle if your intuition tells you to do so. It was actually recommended by Yogi Ji to avoid during the moon cycle for the most part. It creates too much energy at a very internal time of the month for a woman. LDB is better. Good to drink sage tea (water boiled with sage leaves 20min. or so) cleveland or california here in CA or whatever sage is local to your area to dry up mucous in lungs. It works really well as a cure to any lung ailment.
