Guest guest
I have done some basic yoga poses mostly for stretching. Recently I have been following a new spiritual path and am interested in " self-evolution " and have started work on energy raising and the chakras. Two days after beginning this I experienced a sudden and extreme coldness that lasted for several hours. I was so cold my body was shivering and I had put my heat up to 70 and was under 2 comforters and a down blanket. My feet were like ice. Normally I would think I was catching a cold but this was extreme and not the only thing going on. I suffered from a severe abdominal cramp that had me doubled over, breathing helped very little, and my lower back/kidney area were tight and sore. Now, I did not have gas or any other ailment that presented itself to cause this and I have never experienced anything like it before. I have heard about " symptoms " and " locks " but no explanations as to what those feel like or what they are. Could this be related to what I've been doing? Guest guest
Sat nam! Too much, too suddenly. All things, tangible and otherwise have to be built in a piramidal fashion for them to be solid, and stand on their own. Pursuing " self evolution " is a sure way to go retrograde, because you focus on a label that means nothing. Raising energy without the long-term conditioning of your physical body to withstand high energy is a mistake, and the thing to do is to find a practice of KY near-by and/or get a CD to learn and practice KY gradually. The more you pursue, the more it will evade you, whatever it is you're pursuing. Practice yoga and contemplation and take it easy. Make it a part of your life, like brushing your teeth in the morning. What your body experienced was a sudden depletion of Yin, hence the cold and shivering. Now that we're in winter eat slow cooking foods, dark hard green vegetables, and black color foods. Good luck. Guest guest
What is " Sat nam? " So you think it was related. Interesting. I've never encountered anything like that before. How would I go about trying to find a practice nearby? (I doubt there is and I bet it's expensive, both a hindrance.) I'll look into a CD or something. I was using an online audio meditation prior to this experience. Is there any that you or others here might recommend? It has been very hard as a beginner to get beginner information. Even most of the posts I find here are light years beyond my knowledge base. Kundaliniyoga , The Traveler <dumai20baihui wrote: > > Sat nam! > > Too much, too suddenly. Guest guest
It's a greeting. " Sat " means Truth, and " Nam " means To Call Upon. For you to have been able to arrive at this group site and join as a member of the group, you must have gone through several sites on the way, or perhaps someone gave you this address directly. Either way, that's the beginning of the thread. Follow it. Now that the information to " find a place to practice near-by " has been fed to your subconscious => consciousness, if there's a place in your neighborhood you'll find it. Moreover, you can do the course on line at this very site, lesson per lesson, and if you explore it further (this Kundalini-technology site that is) you'll find instructional DVD's. Good luck. Guest guest
Gloria: Why do you characterize this experience as a sudden depletion of yin? Tht would result in heat, not cold, don't you think? ______________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Hi there, in response to the post about being a newbie and finding it difficult as a beginner and the posts on the thread seem light years ahead of you....... When I started KY it was with a DVD (it still is now) and though I had done yoga before there were some things that were a bit foreign. What I found is that the more I practiced and watched the DVDs and read the posts here the more things started to take shape and fit into place. It's a lot of information at a lot of different levels to assimilate. I focused first on getting as much right from the DVDs as I could and then I picked up things here and there that were being said that stood out.......slowly it all started to integrate. For me KY is very much a journey.......I do not want to " know all the info " all at once anymore. The more I practice the deeper my unfolding becomes. By taking the learning as it comes to me rather than hunting it down I AM having a wonderful time discovering how to use this yoga for my benefit as well as getting into a much deeper relationship within myself. Keep reading the posts and keep practicing.....it won't be long before there is a big AHA! Best wishes with your practice. Guest guest
I appreciate your question; however, since this is a KundaliniYoga group, a discussion of TCM would be out of the scope of the forum. If you're so inclined, you may send me a private e-mail. Kind regards, Gloria lulu parker <poetessus wrote: Gloria: Why do you characterize this experience as a sudden depletion of yin? Guest guest
What's TCM? If this is a result of my doing too much, too fast in Kundalini yoga, I think it is an appropriate discussion for this thread. There is so much talk about " symptoms " and such from not being prepared but nobody really mentions what they are and how it can affect you. If you limit the discussion to just what sets you should do, it becomes less than informative and of less use to others who might be having these problems from doing Kundalini Yoga. Am I wrong? Guest guest
TCM is Traditional , which again, is beyond the scope of this forum. The response to the original question however, remains the same, too much, too sudenly and the thing to do is to take it slow. Kind regards, Glow Michelle <patena6510 wrote: What's TCM?
