Guest guest
Hi, Please tell me more. What is a crock pot? What do you mean when you say " turn it on medium " ? I assume one puts cream into the pot when making ghee? Can one just put this in micro wave oven as well? Thanks Khushroo * Why don't you get a crock pot and make your own. It is so easy with a crock pot. Just turn it on medium over night and it is done. Skim the crusty part off the top. Scoop out the clarified gold liquid. And throw away what is at the bottom. I make 4-6 lbs at a time.
Guest guest
Sat Nam, A crock pot is a cooking device for slow cooking foods (such as ghee!). It usually has three settings, Off, Medium and High. I have never made ghee using cream, I use unsalted butter when I can get it. Guest guest
Crock pots are the best way to go. I've burned more butter in a regular pot than I care to think about. You can also do it in a dutch oven in the oven but that takes even more trust! One pound of butter shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to clear.
