Guest guest
Yes, I would like to know this too. It seems that I can't even think about getting up before 8am...this must sound terrible to you! In the other dimension (ie, my fantasy world) I get up at 4:30 and greet my three children completely ready for the day, totally nourished so I can nourish them. But in reality, they often wake up way before I feel ready for them For instance, this morning, I heard them up at 5:30 am, and so I ignored them, put a pillow over my head and just figured they would play in their room (they usually do). I woke up to a bathroom with a clogged toilet, and an inch of water on the floor! Not a good way to start the day, then of course, I didn't take my cold shower or do yoga, becuase I was catapaulted into the day. Then, I am so wound up I rarely go to bed before midnight. I have been thinking a lot about this, and I think that I am holding on to something, there is something about waking to serve my family and children that I don't want to surrender to. I don't have this reaction when I get up before them and do my yoga, etc.... I would love to know how people do this with children and a home to take care of. When do you go to bed? What things have you given up to live this life? WHat things have had to be scarificed and surrendered to? I am in the process of getting rid of about 75 percent of the STUFF in my house, and I feel like maybe once this is done, and I have less THINGS to manage, that getting better about the rest of it should fall into place. Guest guest
Sat Nam I get to bed at varying times. Trying to change this. It ranges between 10pm and 2am. I always get 4 hours of sleep at a minimum (sometimes against my will) but strive for atleast 6. 5 is sketchy at best, but when mixed with Shabad Kriya 5 hours is enough to provide a thuroughly enjoyable daily experience. Albeit, nighttime meditations never feel great until they're done (but I'm sure this could change with repetition) Blessings
Guest guest
HI, I DON'T DO THE COLD SHOWER (CAN'T BEAR IT) BUT MAKE A COMMITMENT TO YOURSELF TO GET UP WHEN THE CHILDREN DO AT VERY LEAST. CHOOSE TO STAY AWAKE. IT WOULD BE BETTER TO SET AN ALARM AND GET UP. IT'S A CHOICE. GET UP BEFORE THEM AFTER A WEEK OF GETTING UP WHEN THEY DO. GO GRADUAL. MAKE THE CHOICE AND STICK TO IT! AS YOU GET UP EARLIER YOU WILL QUITE NATURALLY GO TO SLEEP EARLIER. A COUPLE OF NIGHTS SHOULD DO THE TRICK! DOING KUNDALINI FIRST THING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE! PLUS YOUR KIDS NEED YOU. OPERA HAD SOMEONE ON TALKING ABOUT WEIGHT AND TO QUITE LYING TO YOURSELF. IF YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO EXERCISE OR DIET OR WHATEVER DO IT! OTHERWISE WE DON'T BELIEVE OURSELVES. WE SEE OURSELVES AS LIARS! I HAVE USED THIS WITH KY! IF I SAY I AM GOING TO DO IT I MUST DO IT OR I LOSE FAITH IN MYSELF! QUIT LYING TO YOURSELF. GO SLOW AT FIRST. GET UP AND DO JUST 1 KY MEDITATION. AS TIME GOES ON DO MORE. YOU WILL LOVE YOURSELF AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF ONCE AGAIN.! ENJOY! JUDI Rebecca Dragon <westlandmum wrote: Yes, I would like to know this too. Guest guest
Sat Nam, The question of sleep always comes up. Everyone has to figure that out based on how much sleep they need. But for sure, getting up early, requires going to bed earlier. Taking care of the body in terms of getting enough sleep is important because our ability to commit and sustain the program will depend upon whether our body feels taken care of. It is also easier to get up earlier if we don't eat a big meal just before going to bed. Start with what works for you. One important thing is to do what you can do and be grateful for that.
