Anyone can help me to find a natural remedy to help me fall in sleep.

I have a kriya for sleep but physicaly can't do them. For me they are

chalenging.

I tryed deep breathing, meditation, warm milk, relaxation, Sat Nam

chanting and etc.

It does not work.

I do not want to take any medicine for that.

I'm not stressed, my life is pretty settled so...

Pleas help me with your suggestions or/and experience.

Appreciate your input.

Namaste.

Mar.

Sat Nam,

Though you had mentioned that you are settled in life, there must be

something bothering you in your subconcisous mind... Think deeply

about it...

Insomonia can be caused due to worries or habbit. Are you habitual

to watching TV or browsing internet daily night before going to

sleep? If so, that might be the cause...

Having organic honey (one spoon only) will induce sleep. If you are

diabetic, you should not have honey...

In any case, before going to bed, just sit cross legged and keep

your spine/head straight, close your eyes and watch your thoughts

for a definite period of time daily consistently...

Hope you will find your way to sleep...

Regards,

Subbu

Do you drink any caffeine? I frequently struggle with insomnia,

especially during times of stress. I used to have one cup of coffee

first thing in the morning, and that was the only caffeine I had for

the day. I heard on a TV program that some people's systems (more

often women than men) process caffeine slowly, which means that sleep

for those people can be disrupted even if they had the caffeine much

earlier in the day. It didn't seem likely to me, and so I ignored it.

Recently I stopped drinking caffeine for other reasons, and I can't

believe how well I have been sleeping! I fall asleep quickly, and my

quality of sleep is much improved. I'm not sure if you drink coffee or

tea, but if you do you might want to give them up for a few days and

see if that helps.

Sincerely,

-Laura

Dear Mar,

thankyou for everyone sharing their posts on this forum, i have been really

touched by some of them. I would like to share this tip.

How about this, stop " TRYING " to fall asleep.

Just tell yourself, " I am just going to have a rest. "

And resting is easy, no pressure, just lie there and well, thats it, just

lie there and rest. And feel good that you can just rest!

If God/Nature wants you to sleep then that is fine, and if God/nature wants

you to stay awake - well that's fine as well.

Just say , " Dear SatNaam, I have given everything to You, I have jumped into

the Ocean of You. If you ferry me across or drown me, well its upto You, but

I have given everything to You. "

God Bless You with sleep.

Let us know how it goes.

dust of your feet

Sat Nam Mar,

My husband has a very easy time falling asleep, he can nap anywhere

and anytime. I, however, take a while to settle down and go to sleep.

When I find it very difficult to go to sleep, my best trick is to

pattern my breathing to be the same as his. When we sleep our

breathing slows down, and so since his is already slowed I just match

it and before I know it, I'm asleep too. This almost always works for me.

Peace,

Sail

Left nostril breathing and silently chanting sat nam has always worked for

me. Pigeon pose for a few minutes before bed has also been recommended by

a reputable anusara teacher (if that is possible with your phys.

limitations). Making sure I have my one cup of yerba mate well before noon

has also made a difference. good luck

Try some ambient music a few hours before sleep as you finish your chores for

the day or

potter about the house...keep the tv out of your bedroom or any other other

electrical

appliances....invest in some ultra fluffy sheets and a comfy pillow...make your

bedtime a

ritual and surrender slowly to it...don't try to fall asleep...commend your

attention to your

toes and stretch them slowly, all the time being mindful of the sensations that

make them

relax...then do the same for your shins and knees and thighs...until you have

brought

mindfulness to the relaxing of every part of your body from feet to the top of

your

head...breathe as deeply and as comfortably as you can...and surrender to the

night...bless

you!
