Guest guest
Dear Friends, Sat Nam. Let's get real. 'Old people' often have many physical limitations. They can't do what more flexible bodies can do. Some of them haven't really exercised for years. So what we offer them has to be suitable to their capabilities. They do need to stretch and move as much as possible. And they need to breathe! So give them what they can do. Even a few exercises with the arms and breathing exercises will make them feel good. Stand up and shake. I remember 20 years ago 6 months before my father died, he was sitting in the back of a class where I taught only the 3 arm exercises in the 'Exercise Set for State of Mind and Paranoia' in RELAX AND RENEW, page 40. (I have included these as meditation facilitators in all my manuals) He told me he never felt so good in his entire life. Make something up. Give them what they can do. Get them moving in some way some how. They will be so grateful. Over time they may be able to do more. One of the many good things about getting older is that we give up some of the rules and relax into the grace of simply breathing and being alive. Help them feel alive. Blessings, Guru Rattana :+)
