Guest guest
Sat Sri Akal and Sat Nam to all.... Again Im here to seek help from the experience of the great minds and souls. I wish to know if there are yoga techniques which are short and can be used to releive any kind of stress or negative thoughts instantly especially at work and in Offices etc. I have observed for a lot of people that One negative incident can be a de-motivator at work, which results into less productivty at work and can act as slow poison for the rest of the day. So , please can anyone share their knowledge about the same and can let the forum know any specific excercises which can be used at any time to refocus and infuse the frshness of the morning daylight into us....when we are down after getting a firing from the Boss I have heard observing one's own breathing pattern can help ....but anyone please elaborate if any jap should be accompnied along with the excercise. Thanks and Satnam to all. Regards Akash, Mumbai _______________ Fashion Channel : Want to know what’s the latest in the fashion world ? Guest guest
Dear Akash I am not a yoga expert but I do know that the breathing exercises help a lot. I used to go and shut myself into the ladies room and do the deep breathing, holding for counts and letting out until I calmed down and then did a brief meditation of letting go by telling myself what harm this negative E does to me and wash it away by turning to my positive heart energy of love. Others in this group can be more technical than this and I know they will offer even more help. Heartfullly Teresa Van Nuys, CA ************** Need a new ride? Guest guest
Sat Nam Akash, There are a few things which I do.. One is connect with my breath, also I recognise that I have a choice in that moment and the next moment.. etc. to attach to the words and believe that it is the truth and is saying something about me or I can allow the moment to be what it is(staying in the present moment) and know that what ever the words that are said or situation, is not who I am. I do not get attached to the words, I allow myself to be a witness to the situation and the feelings that I am experiencing. A teacher of mine says that the emotions are there as an awareness.. but are not there to keep company with me. Know that you are not the words or the situation. If you resist the situation or the feelings of the situation .. they will persist. Allow the feelings to expand and accept them.. but do not get attached to them. The ego loves to keep you in a place of weakness so that you can not be the extrordinary self that you are. Do your best to come into the neutral mind. With no judgment of the situation. It is neither good or bad. It just is what it is... and it too shall pass. Do not let it define you. Get out of the mind and get into your heart or solar plexus. I also do my best to remember that God is there in that moment.. and the guru lies within myself and the other person. Yogi Bhajan said.. if you can not see God in all you can not see God at all. Love yourself... the true self.. not the false self. You have a choice to let the situation become you or you can choose to be a witness to the situation knowing that the true you is so much more than that moment. You are the light of the universe.. All of this is done with no judgment of the self and it takes time and persistance of knowing the truth of who you are.. so if you are not able to do that in a given situation.. forgive yourself.. and keep doing this and more and more you will do it automatically. Hope that helps. Guest guest
Sat Nam Akash! I'm sure there others here that can go into greater detail, but I can provide a quick/easy answer: I use this quick meditation while at work because I can either shut my office door or (as it says in the description) " duck into a bathroom stall. " Meditation to get out of depression: kundalini yogakyt17.html <kundalini yogakyt17.html> The above meditation is from Guru Rattana's Relax and Renew. Guest guest
I practice KY yoga and it helps me at work. Lately, I have been doing a meditation from page 163 of Kundalini Yoga Sadhana Guidelines 2nd edition. It says " For Endless Courage and Endurance Against the Entire Universe " . This one has been working well for me as it relaxes and energizes at the same time while I am at work. Guest guest
Dear Akash, Sat Nam! There is a whole section of techniques in Relax and Renew (available on www.yogatech.com) that take only 3-11 minutes. I find 4 part breath very powerful for a quick shift of energy. Triangle pose works wonders too, but might not be too good in public. >I wish to know if there are yoga techniques which are short and can be used >to releive any kind of stress or negative thoughts instantly especially at >work and in Offices etc. * Combined with a daily sadana, these techniques are more powerful. We have to set our vibration before we leave the house. Then our quick techniques are a matter of re-setting, coming back to center and calming down. used at any time to refocus and infuse the frshness of the morning daylight into us....when we are down after getting a firing from the Boss * Might have to do more than one for this situation. I have heard observing one's own breathing pattern can help ....but anyone please elaborate if any jap should be accompnied along with the excercise. * Definitely use all of the techniques all at once. That is the power of Kundalini yoga. Blessings, Guru Rattana :+)
Guest guest
Dear Akash, I am also no expert. But I find that I have to take a moment, do some deep breathing exercises, and do a few stretches or twists in my chair. That works very well for me. Also if I am having an especially stressful day I take my lunchtime and do some personal meditation. Meditation for the heart... there is a great one for a calm heart.. sit in easy pose.. eyes closed and focused at third eye.. place the left palm on the heart centre (fingers parallel to the ground).. the right arm is bent a the elbow along side of the body... with the forearm/hand pointing towards the ceiling (like giving a pledge).. the hand in Gyan Mudra(thumb to index finger).. concentrate on the flow of the breath: Inhale smoothly, gradually and deep... suspend the breath for as long as you can... then slowly exhale all the breath out and suspend the breath out for as long as you can.. do this for 3, 7, 11, or 31 min a day. To end inhale and exhale 3 times forcefully. : Emotionally this adds clear perception to your relationships with yourself and others. If you are upset at work or in a personal relationship, sit in this meditation for 3 - 15 min before deciding how to act. Then act with your full heart. Physicaly this meditation strenghens the lungs and the heart. Hope that helps Blessings Akasha

Guest guest
Dear Group, Sat Nam, I had/have been doing the Ra Ma Da Sa, but I found when I awoke in the night, as with a nightmare, I could not remember the mantra; my mind seemed to block the Ra Ma Da Sa. Instead Sa Ta Na Ma came, stabilizing, comforting, giving solance, and providing detachment from the negative moment, which was only a dream. Other times it just feels natural to do Sa Ta Na Ma with light breath of fire and locks to correct aggitation and lack of peace in the belly, feeling the Sa Ta pleasurably embracing, infusing, penetrating a troubled area with shakti, and the Na Ma pulling out the poison which has been loosened. I like to meditate with the Sa Ta Na Ma in my Third Eye and revert to a very mild and sensitive breath of fire w/locks, which stirs up bliss, when I find my mind wandering. I haven't given up on the Ra Ma Da Sa, though. I'm doing and would recommend the mung bean/rice diet (w/blue-green algae and other supplements for me), which I would think would be great to ground emotion. I find blue-green algae really helps with my third chakra. I have awoken from sleep with laughing dreams during periods of eating blue-green algae. I get my algae from the Christopher Hills company, best I have tried, and I trust its purity. This is a treasue trove of a group, for which I thank Guru Rattana. I thank all of you for your patient, intelligent and experienced input, ie, service. Guest guest
Hi Akasha, I wanted to say that when this message (below) arrived a while back, it was really timely for me. I had a meeting that week that was very difficult and the words helped me to feel calmer, stronger, and less emotional. One thing I did that day right before the meeting was to go in the bathroom and do alternate nostrl breathing. I think it helped to make me feel at ease and grounded in my body, ready to respond appropriately in the meeting.
