Sat Nam , I am wondering if Jane Bentley is teaching Kundalini yoga to

elementary children in schools ? We " Yokids " teach yoga in schools,

but we have had to tailer down our language to a bear minimum NO

sanscrit. I know Kundalini is Gurumuk but I also know Kirtan Kirya

would not be permmited where we teach. We find the strongest

opposition to be the Christian Fundamentalists. Any way just checking.

We teach a combo of Kundalini/ Iyengar.Lily

Hi Lily,

I do teach in Public schools as well as yoga studios however for some reason

this has never been a problem in the district where I teach. Most of the parents

are Christian with a genorous sprinkling of Muslims fut for some reason noone

has ever said anything about it to me. I so however live on the east coast

which has always been very liberal. You could tailor the Adi Mantra by using

the English version which is " I bow to the teacher within " w This whole

fundamentalist movement is making Christianity so difficult to appreciate right

now and I know that depending upon the part of country you live in the climate

is very different. Clearly many organized religions are feeling very threatened

by anything that empowers members of their faiths to trust their own inner

wisdom. The " I am Happy, I am Good " mantra would I think be appreciated by

parents everywhere.
