I joined this group and have learned alot from all of you. I am hoping everyone can help with me something that I experienced in my practice. I have been practicing poses along with my study and had an amazing experience on my practice. As I was working through poses I felt an imense surge of power that seemed to flow through my body. I was like energy flowing through my limbs. It didn't make me stronger but I felt it and my body felt lighter and heavier at the same time. The world was brighter and is sharper around me. It was a wow experience. After I feel almost lighter. It is hard to describer. Has anyone else had this happen? what did you experience? Please let me know.... Searcher... Sat Nam, Dear Searcher, In view of the fact that you are a member of this group (Kundalini yoga), and must have read something of the experience, I am hard pressed to understand why you did not recognize your experience as a Kundalini rising. I understand that everyone experiences their rising differently, and it is not wise to compare, however I too, wished verification of my experience when I had mine. I am a calmer, wiser, more integrated, compassionate and loving person now, than before my experience. Many people, I understand, have a negative experience, with burning, or other difficult or painful feelings. I myself experienced a surge of the brightest white light coming from my base chakra up my center, and bursting at my heart chakra, before continuing on upwards. It was in fact, my first time practice of the Sa Ta Na Ma mantra. My body and limbs were transfixed without physical feelings of strain, with arms up and outstretched for a long, long time in meditation. That whole day was a day of literal bliss, leaving me in total joy, and affecting also everyone I spoke with that day. I have not had a similar experience since (though I desired it), but I am happy with what is. I have also since deduced that since it (the bright white light - literally love light) burst at my heart chakra, that somehow my throat chakra was partially blocked. I know that I need to work on my throat chakra. (any suggestions from more seasoned practitioners would be welcome) There you go, and I hope that helps.
