Sat Nam!

I need some helpful advices (good kriyas, therapy or aything else) to help a

person with pains in his knees due to spoilt cartilages (he already had

meniscus surgeries to both the knees and he doesn't want to have other

surgeries).

Thank you all in advance!

Dear Sujan Singh,

I have had good success with frog pose practiced daily. I have a long

history of knee related issues, dislocations, arthritis, compression

injury and about six months ago my left knee became very painful after

squatting to reach something near the floor. There was a popping

sensation and though I did not feel pain until the next day, my body

signaled that something was amiss at that moment. At first I stayed

off the knee as much as possible and the pain and inflammation and lack

of flexibility just became worse. Then I recalled reading Yogi

Bhajan's advice - do frog pose and you will never have any knee

problems. I began slowly allowing flexibility and strength to return

gradually, did self massage, and now it is significantly improved. It

was also good for me to sit on the floor with my leg extended,

sometimes supported by holding my leg just above and behind the knee

joint and then bending and straightening the knee joint. This helped

align connective tissues in the joint before I did frog pose. I still

do this before and after sitting in vajrasana. I was also open to the

lesson presented by this signal from my body. The injury felt to me

like a physical manifestation of an area of my life that sorely needed

attention.

I hope this helps someone!

Sat Nam,

Guru Gopal

Sat Nam!

I've experienced what you wrote I just can agree with you.

My doubt was about this painful moment so I was afraid he couldn't handle

frog pose now: I'll tell him to start slowly listening his body (to not

create any stress).

> Guru Gopal

It's funny: I just had a call with a nice friends (an italian teacher) and

her name is Guru Gopal Kaur........and I read your reply......

Thank you for your suggestions!

Sat Nam!

Here -

http://www.pinklotus.org/-%20KY%20Kriya%20for%20Sat%20Kriya%20Workout.htm -

you can find a kriya where there is a pic and an explication of Frog Pose.

If you never tried this pose, start gently according to what your body can

do now, and slowly increasing the numebr of the repetitions.

Sat Nam, Ana,

I looked at the video and note that is is incorrect, and in fact, there is a

comment posted on the site that the heels should be touching. I searched and

found the following link for, what I believe, instructions on the correct way to

do frog pose:

http://anmolmehta.com/blog/2008/02/26/kundalini-yoga-exercise-legs/

I suggest looking on www.kriteachings.com as well.

Good luck,

Padmani Kaur

In addition to moving slowly building repetitions with this exercise,

be aware of the alignment and movement in the bones of the legs, hips

and spine. Watch the ankles and see that they do not pronate (turn

inward) and that the knees stay wide apart. Allow your body to lean

into the arms and fingertips on the floor. Move slowly and

deliberately feeling and seeing, in your minds eye, how all the

components of your beautiful healing bodies move in the posture. Your

breath should be very deep and powerful filling your body with prana

and you balance energies of the lower chakras. It might be really

great to find a teacher if there is one near you.

this is a beautiful description (below)to follow for doing frog pose...

I would like to add that when you straighten your legs and stretching, you stay

on the balls of your feet, in other words...our heels never touch the ground.Sat
