Schedule or guideline for doing the Kundalini Yoga

Do anyone know where and how I could start my kundalini yoga training.

I was looking and searching the site for something like a schedule that

would say -- do this for this many times for a day. Then proceed to

the next step after this many days....

Some guideline of that sort that teaches step by step in Kundalini

yoga. I thought just going through the lessons and doing stuffs the

way our mind dictates may not be the right way.

Thanks

Siva

Sat Nam Siva ji,

If you haven't already seen it... then GuruRattan's free online course

is a good place to start...

www.kundaliniyoga.org

where do you live..?

You can also check the teachers directory online

go/start.cgi/teachers/directory.html

also the www.3ho.org website for teachers listings.

I live at Atlanta, US.  I am going back to India on Aug. 8th.  I am already

working with the online training materials.  But, I feel that there is no clear

path (I mean a step by step procedure - that could explain us to go up the

ladder).  I am looking for something that instructs me to do a exercise for

certain number of days (mentioning the results that we should expect out of it)

and then the next one (after feeling the result of the 1st step)....  Hope you

are able to understand what I expect..

Thank you and sorry for the trouble

Siva

What about the instruction books by GuruRattana who also created the

online training materials? Be sure to go to all the links in the

online classes as well, because they will lead you to more

information on breathing and proper warm-ups. Plus there are

additional meditations on the website that change regularly. The

online lessons probably have links to where you can purchase her

manuals, which include an Introduction to Kundalini Yoga, Relax and

Renew, and Transitions to a Heart-Centered World. There is probably

another one. At the least, get the introduction one. She says that

together her manuals can keep you busy for decades. There is a lot of

explanation in the introduction about kundalini yoga. I also have

Dharma Singh Khalsa's Meditation as Medicine book plus books by

Gurunam. I happen to take Naam classes, which are similar to

kundalini and developed by Gurunam. Those classes piqued my interest

in learning more, so I found the online classes and Gururattana's

books.

Sat Nam dear Siva,

As far as I know I've not come across a particular book that definies a

specific

a, b, c... set prescribed method for learning kundalini yoga. Sometimes the

books have a mixture of kriyas

in and you can rotate through them until you find one that feels good for

you, then practice that

for a few weeks or 40 days. Listen to your body and common sense to know

which one seems balanced for your needs at the time.

If you find a kriya that you like, but feel that it is missing some

stretches that you need, e.g. forward bend or backward/sideways bends..

then just include a few of those as warm ups before you start the actual

kriya.

Some books teach by body system / energy system covering the complete

aspects of both.

'Kundalini Yoga - The Eternal Flow of Power' - by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa

is quite thorough covering

all the basics of tuning in, pranayama, mantras, aspects of mind, chakras,

healing, diet

morning sadhana, the 10 bodies, with exercises throughout and then a section

with a few meditations and kriyas at the end. I often recommend

it as a good introduction to those completely new to Kundalini Yoga.

Dharam Singh, if you are reading this thread.. do you know of any such books

that particualrly walk someone who is a beginner through recommended

Kriyas in a specific order for beginners to practice?

All blessings to you,

Krishan Shiva Kaur
