Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone, After reading some of the post on facial moisturizers I started to get interested in coconut oil. I just have some questions concerning coconut oil. Can it be used as body moisturizer? Does it have to be mixed with something else or can it be used in its pure state? I found some at a good price and bought it, I do not want to open it until I can get some more information on it. Guest guest
sat nam guru sadhana siva According to the purists I know , coconut oil is best as 'virgin coconut oil'. I know it is expensive but in that state you can also use it for cooking, which I do. Heartfully Teresa ************** Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Guest guest
Sat Nam, everyone, Thank everyone for your responses. Well, I am taking that as a yes. The coconut oil I got is expeller pressed organic virgin cc oil. It was not totally soled when I got it, it has been hot here in Philly, Pa and it is now it has liquefied. I keep it in a cool dark place, I really do not want to refrigerate it. I just hope it is still good to use either for cooking or skin conditioner. Guest guest
Hello Sadhaha, Actually, Coconut Oil is excellent for cooking, infact, it better for you than other oils, and does not burn at higher temperatures. The only caviat is that it adds a slight coconut flavor to your foods, so I might suggest more for baking, or for cooking Asian dishes since they tend to have a coconut flare to them already. By the way, veggies sateed in coconut oil are DELICIOUS! Don't worry about it being liquefied, the oil will be fine. It wont go bad. Its almost impossible, unless you left it on the shelf for years at a time. In addition to cooking with it, you can also eat it. Some health based websites recommend 2 table spoons a day for those who have low metabolism, or low thyroid activity. IN a study they did with pigs, farmers were trying to find the quickest method to fattening up their pigs, so they tried coconut oil. Instead of gaining weight, the pigs actually lost weight, became leaner and more muscular. So they tried soybean oil instead, and sure enough, the pigs gained weight more quickly than on anything else they had tried. Coconut oil is a great source of protein, and because of its antibiotic properties, you can use it anywhere on your body, on wounds, infections, etc. I have even used it as natural deodorant. Since it kills the bacteria under your arms there is no odor. By the way, it's an excellent aid for digestive problems. If you feel like you have some sort of food poisoning, try a little coconut oil, it will kill the bad bacteria in your stomach. Do a google search on Coconut Oil youll find all of the information and more. It truly is a nectar from the gods.
