Guest guest
Has anyone ever been instructed to do breath of fire through the mouth. I saw instructions to do that in a book while doing extended cow pose and leg raises and i was confused on how to coordinate movement and breath
Guest guest
I have been using the Gurmukh DVD as instruction for Breath of Fire... I too, have a concern. I can do no more than 15 seconds or so at a time. I get dizzy, overwhelmed, sometimes cry. Anyone have an idea why? Namaste Jeanette
Guest guest
Hi Jeanette, The dizziness can come from the increased amount of oxygen coming into your body.....breath of fire will bring up one's " stuff " and the feeling of being overwhelmed or needing to cry is buried w/in your emotions and mind...you can take a moment to exhale from your mouth when these feelings come to the surface as that will help you to release....I've never seen the dvd of which you are speaking but perhaps you might want to try working a bit with the breath at a different time than when you are doing the dvd...you might want to take a few minutes each day and do breath of fire for 15 seconds, then breath calmly for 15 seconds, go back to breath of fire for another 15 followed by the calm breath and slowly increase the times....it takes a while to build up the ability to do long sessions of breath of fire...relax and build it up slowly and try to not avoid the emotional reactions....those emotions really do have to come out in some way or the other.
