Teaching Kundalini Yoga

I am interested in becoming a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and would like to

start the course in October. I have very little experience having only

come to kundalini in the past 2 months. I've practised yoga

(Deskecha) for 20yrs and feel Kundalini has always been latent in me.

Do you think I'm going too fast and should wait another year? It

feels right but I have a history of trying to run before I can walk -

to my cost. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Di

Sat Nam!

I was moved to respond to this message.  The decision to begin Kundalini teacher

training is a big one, but it is one that I will never regret.

Kundalini is called the yoga of Self awareness.  If you feel drawn to this type

of yoga, your Self is wanting to give you, and all of the lives that you will

touch, a new tool to keep you up with your practice.  Teacher training is a

journey...a life changing journey.  If you have been working within another yoga

tradition you are probably well prepared already for many aspects of the

training.

I completed level 1 teacher training in May of this year.  I had only been

practicing yoga (Hatha, Ashtanga, and Kundalini) very inconsistently for about

1.5 years prior to enrolling in teacher training.

I was so awed and surprised by my classmates!  Some had been practicing for many

years, and some only a few weeks prior to the training.  Over the course of the

training we all grew as individuals and as a community.

I cannot say enough about how valuable this training has been in my life.  It

has changed my relationship with my yoga practice (in all forms of yoga), my

relationships with others, and the way I live my life.  I am a more conscious

and compassionate person now.  Compassionate with myself and with others.

Conscious not only of making better choices, but of acting proactively from a

neutral space rather than reacting poorly out of habit.

The technology of Kundalini yoga is a gift.  This technology will give to you

what you give to it.  When you become a teacher of this technology you embrace

the gift in a new way and continue the tradition of this ancient

practice by bringing it to others.  Whether you choose to take teacher training

with the goal of teaching to groups or to individuals, or choose to take the

training to deepen your own practice you will walk into a new role in your

life.  My practice has entered into my daily experience in ways that I could not

have foreseen.  It is both subtle and expansive.

As Yogi Bhajan said:  " I did not come here to create disciples, I came here to

create teachers! "

and of course " Keep up! and you will be kept up! "

May light shine on your path,

Cyndi C.

Hello Di,

Like you I have been thinking about Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. I

started KY 8 months ago and it has been great for me. I finally

registered for the Training in October and cannot wait. Are you in

Portland also? If so I hope to see you there.

God Bless, Sat Nam,

Randy
