Guest guest
Sat nam, Can someone please tell me why in some meditations we are instructed to keep the eyes slightly open and focus at the tip of the nose? I find it much more difficult to concentrate this way. It's a lot easier to have my eyes closed. Does it really matter? Also, when doing a mantra meditation, why do some instructions say to chant in monotone? Does this really matter, or is it okay to sing a melody? Thanks! Guest guest
My yoga teacher addressed this just this past week in class. He told us if you can focus on one point, the tip of your nose or third eye it keeps your eyes still and therefore keeps your mind still.
