Sat Nam,

My birth name is Elham...I go by Ellie.  I have never practiced yoga.  Yet I

have drawn to kundalini yoga.  I have made a conscious choice to pursue this

path on a spiritual, mental, and physical basis.  I just turned 38 and have

experienced what may be perceived as spiritual development, premonitions, strong

feelings...my family says that they felt it from the time I was born that is why

they named me Elham (translated " premonition from God " ).  I don't know how much

of that really matters or  whatever the label...honestly I have been more

connected to another realm since childhood.  I have endured numerous doctors and

ailments that cannot be explained or remedied with medicines since the age of

12.  I have had revelations and experiences that I am unable to explain and thus

have led me to this new beginning.  I am open minded and have done some research

and identified the chakras that are in need of balancing.  Some of the things

that I have

been doing since early teenage hood represent hand mudras specifically to

opening the Root Chakra (my most underactive chakra).  Is this coincidental??

The preceding I feel is confirmation that I must pursue this but gain clear

understanding as I feel this is meant to be.  It wasn't of any surprise as I

have been told over several years by spiritual advisors that my root chakra is

unbalanced. One told me that it was  " sick " ...what does this mean??

In the past 12 months I strongly believe that I have awakened something inside

of me and have difficulty explaining but need to nurture or grow it.  I am a

novice indeed.  I am not fearful.  In fact I feel very positive and encouraged

within myself of this choice.  I have faced many negativities during my time in

my mother's womb...I am strong in spirit and have always been a survivor.  I

actually feel comfortable that I am following a positive path towards truth and

freedom that I have not known.

In the past 12 months I have practiced growth by practice of Feng Shui and

studying of I Ching and Reiki. I relate to over 90% of the symptoms listed

regarding Kundalini Awakening.

I would appreciate any information or guidance to help me awaken what seems to

be wanting release for a very long time.

Thank you for your compassion in listening to my request.

Dear Ellie

I would recommend you take a look at www.yogatechnology you can follow Guru

Rattana via her web teachings  - some are free and if you really get into it

there is a small monthly charge and access to a huge library of lessons /

teachings. There are physical, mental and spiritual lessons to awake kundalini.

Guru Rattana follows Yogi Bhajan's teachings and talks in straightforward

english that we can all understand - I thoroughly recommend this site.  Very

useful to learn more about and nurture and grow kundalini - particularly useful

if you don't have a teacher in person near you. I have found Guru Rattana

wonderfully enlightening as I too am in the infancy stages of connecting through

Kundalini.

Sat Nam, dear Ellie,

It would be great if you can find a Kundalini Yoga Studio and participate in

same classes. You can look for gong, or regular yoga classes or just show up for

a group sadhna, if there is a center close to your home.

If you don't find a convenient yoga studio, you may want to look for some

Kundalini Yoga DVDs on line. By practicing kundalini yoga you could get some of

the answers you are looking for.

Good Luck!
