Sluggish after practice

Sat nam,

I have been experiencing this for a month:

If I do my set - The Kriya for Elevation - as soon as I wake up, I

feel tired, sluggish and cranky all day.

If I do it later in the day, I feel energetic both before and after I

do the set.

I wonder what is going on. I know that the preferred time for doing

meditation is in the early morning. I have no trouble getting up. I

always get up 3 or 4 or 5 am.

My energetic hours - both mentally and physically - are in the early

hours.

I have been experimenting to see if there is some other variable at

work - such as amount of sleep, or what I ate the nite before, or how

I feel, but the only variable is the time of day I do the kriya.

I'm baffled - if there is a teacher or long-term practitioner who is

here, I would appreciate any feed-back, or anyone else's experience

similar to this and what you did.

thanks,

Kartar Kaur

Sat nam,

I answered my own question!

I am posting in case anyone else is in a similar situation.

I've decided to always do my yoga in the early am.

2 reasons- first, because that is when Yogi Bhajan says to do it.

Second because I think my body is going thru an adjustment, and I will

just be sluggish until I no longer am.

30 years ago I had a methamphetimine addiction, and boy did I have energy!

Similarly now I am used to stoking myself with coffee to get a buzz.

I'm starting to think that nothing we do ever completely leaves our

body/mind/aura. In some way the addiction I had so long ago is related

to my being sluggish now.

So -as Keith often says, the answer is - do more yoga!

regards,

ellen

Sat Nam, Kartar Kaur,

Thanks for the update. Isn't it great when we can answer our own questions?

I like the way you are experimenting with different variables and monitoring

what gives you what effects. This is conscious living. Have you tried doing a

yoga set both in the Am and in the PM or afternoons?

Life is one big experiment with many experiences. If we pay attention to what

experiments create what experiences, we can learn how to successfully navigate

our unique life.

Many blessings,

Guru Rattana :+)

Sat nam, Guru Rattan,

" Have you tried doing a yoga set both in the Am and in the PM or

I have the desire and the urge to, but have not yet done it. :)

Good idea.
