Sat Nam!

I read something about bound lotus and I'd like to try to pratice it, but

sadly in my past I had four surgeries to my knees (three to the left one and

one to the right one), situation that doesn't allow me to stay in lotus pose

(just thinking about it my knees hurt!!!) or in any pose with strong lock of

the knee joint.

How can I do?

Is it best for me to avoid this techinique?

Thank you all for your opinion.

Sat Nam Sujan Singh,

I personally have had major knee problems.  Just sitting sometimes aggravates

the joint to the point where you have to get up and start moving.  I haven't

tried the bound lotus position or neither to I intend to.  It can put a lot of

pressure on the joints.  I would try to move slowly towards the technique over

a period of time with regular practice in kriya's that loosen up the knees.

This should allow the knees to strengthen somewhat and then try and see how you

react to the possibility of doing the bound lotus.  Do not push yourself too

much as this can have a opposite effect on the knees.

I have found that the cold shower therapy in the morning helps to give the knee

a lot of flexibilty during the cold icy weather we are having in the UK at the

moment.  This should be an option you could try if not already doing it.

Blessings,

Goldie Singh.

Sat Nam, Sujan Singh,

You have answered your own question.

Don't even think about doing bound lotus. There are so many kriyas, execises

and meditations to choose from. Pick something else.

Blessings,

Guru Rattana :+)

Having done…sort of…bound lotus with " bad " knees…my experience was both " bad "

and

" good " . I didn't permanently injure myself and I did 40 days and I got lots of

healing and

instructions and asked lots of people.

The main take away for me…why practice a kriya (any kriya) that suppose to be so

uplifting/healing and then injure myself. I totally support the " need " to

gracefully with grit

push and flow past our limitation…I have never let my arms down in White

Tantric…maybe

once, since I have selected memory & #9786;…and have done many sadhana's of Sat

Kriya and

Kirtan Kriya and Sodarshan Chakra Kriya and whatever Yogi Bhajan asked me to

do…so I am

not saying don't…simple saying…check your motivation and your " need " to practice

this

kriya/mediation.
