Kundalini for kommuters?

My job involves early morning commuting to the city, when I would

rather be home doing sadna. It finally occured to me yesterday

morning that maybe I could meditate or do something on the train.

My commute could be either one 45-55 minute ride or two 15 minute

rides depending on where I am commuting to.

I thought an ipod might be helpful.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Dear Fiona,

You could use the time to listen to the mantras for the aquarian sadhana for

example. This can combine nice with a kriya done before leaving home.

Good luck in finding the best way of using the commute time!

Sorry no specific K yoga meditation to suggest. But I hope someone comes up with

one.

I meditate on public transport - not using a mudra or doing so very subtly.

People must think it is odd me sitting straight up not leaning back. On buses

its easier as no-one faces me - the only person that would really notice is next

to you and if that seat is empty it is best of all - you can do funny breathing

discretely.

On crowded trains I do it standing up - but this is more self-hypnosis - just

descending to deep calmness.

I dont dare do full on K yoga meditations with chanting!

Sometimes I stretch and manipulate spinal muscles etc but that gets emotional

and puts weird expressions on my face so I only do it sometimes. I overheard

some people talking once - they were wondering if I was insane or on drugs. As

time goes on I care less about what other people think but to me it still feels

rude to do weird things in public.

Then again if you make yourself deeply calm others around may be calmed by that

so you are doing them a favour.

Keith.

I would just suggest conscious breathing. You can do it if you're seated or not,

with eyes closed or not. The fact you are in the tube or in a bus or in train,

is a great opportunities as you can start to pratice in everyday life which more

difficult than praticing in meditation room.
