Hi ap, I had tendonitis from computing and fully recovered. I am not a doctor or a expert yogi ut ca say a bit from my experience and a few others know. To recover from CTS and be able to work again on computers for my job required all over 'de-stressing' which means I use my whole self in a more easy way. The change is at a subtle and fundamental level. I am not sure you can recover just by doing a few specifc excercises although others may have suggestions. You may have to do yoga seriously (daily practice) and for a long period. This will change you and you will come to understand yourself and the way you work and then you will be able to work out how best to use yoga for your own good. People I meet who recover from RSI generally do it this way - it is a long haul but the benefits go well beyond just recovering. You become a beter you to. Keith. Guest guest
Try this for carpal tunnel -- put your finger pads against a wall, palms face up -- maybe a foot or so below shoulder height (move it around until you find the right height), then press your palm into the wall -- now your fingers will point toward the floor and the inside of your wrist will be facing up toward the ceiling. Do it for a strong stretch, but don't push to pain. When the base of you palm (the pad of your hand) can reach and be pressed against the wall, add this -- reach under your hand with your other hand, and grasping your thumb pull it gently down toward the back of your wrist. During the day, if you don't have a wall, you can just turn you hand palm up toward the ceiling and reach under and pull the thumb toward the floor and back toward the back of the wrist. This will help to stretch those tight muscles that are pressing against the nerves in the carpal tunnel. I've had a few students report back that this helped them. I'd like to hear if you get relief also, since I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone -- depends what is causing the carpal tunnel for the individual. Guest guest
Sat Nam, I would suggest just doing sadhana, or taking Kundalini Yoga Teachers Training. I had a torn ligament in my left hand (determined by an MRI) and injury to my right hand. I was told the injuries would not heal without surgery. About six months after learning it was a torn ligament, I graduated Level 1 Teachers Training, and three months later, after attending Summer Solstice, I realized I was not experiencing any pain. I was amazed and intuitively realized it was due to keeping a daily practice and from attending Summer Solstice. Guest guest
Sat Nam Pamela I was watching for answers to the carpal tunnel problem. Your solution helped me just with the palm facing upward and pulling back toward wrist. I am amazed. I have tried so many things to help this including wrist splints.. All seemed to worsen things. I thank you With hope for peace in all of us Teresa ************** A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Hello, There have been some very good responses to exercises for carpal tunnel. The stretching has helped me. I just want to say my carpal tunnel problem was in remission until I did the Meditation for Prosperity II which is part of the Subagh Kriya. This is where you chant HAR and hit the hands together. This really aggravated my carpal tunnel syndrome so I had to stop doing it. Guest guest
Sat Nam, you can try a lot of Kundalini classes, or meditations about your problem with carpal tunnel... I raccomend you to ceck all your health of: your spine, your back, your arms, your breath, because sometimes the problems is not only in the arms. I had this problem too after a car accident, the doctor told me " operation is needed... " but: I spent a lot of time with spinal flex, torsions, bridge pose with breath of fire, ecc... I received 20 massages for my pain in the upper body, posture and circulation going better, now I can sleep without noise, I don't use to pick up heavy weight, I respect more my body, I loose weight, I use a car and my motocycle now is the garage, and fortunally I don't smoke. http://download.live.com/?mkt=it-it
Guest guest
Search in youtube exercises for carpal tunnel. In a few words you need to extend muscles and tendons of the hand and forearm, I have also CTS and what I do is I go to cat pose and I turn my hands until my fingers point to my legs, then I try to sit in my heels. This is me in these videos explaining the exercises, but they are in spanish Namaste Pedro

Seems like you have it right - exploring the tools of yoga and finding what works. it took me years to get out of RSI many false dawns brought hope then I realised it was a fasle dawn and dispair again. It's a nasty ailment. I am absolutely sure that like me you will find K yoga gts you away from it totally. It may take a long time though so be patient. Self massage of trigger points can help relieve symptoms quicker than yoga - but the yoga will get rid of them and stop new ones forming. If you ahve a bit of money paying for massage can teach you a lot. The masseur must know about trigger points - sports massage people or those with RSI experience seem to know more than most. Guest guest
Yes, HAR meditation is painful with carpal tunnel syndromme. I noticed immediately when I learned it. Try to be very conscious how your hands are all day and night. Use ofr sleeping a glove to mantain the hand straight. At night many times hand bends and it keeps that position until pain wakes you up. Pedro
Guest guest
Hi all, I am thinking of advertising specifically to offer classes to people with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other forms of RSI since I have some personal knowledge of them. Does anybody have any ideas on this? Thanks, Keith
