Hi Asif,

Anyone can do the mantras and benefit from them....spirituality is beyond

religion as is Divinity and Yogi Bhajan often referred to Kundalini Yoga as a

" technology " . Yogi Bhajan and I were in communication for years and he never

once suggested that I join the Sikh religion...in fact, the last time I saw him

in a public setting he looked me straight in the eyes and told me that the

biggest mistake he made was starting a religion...... " sat " is " truth " not

religion.

Yes!

Asif:

The All is One.  Precisely this morning I was contemplating about Kundalini Yoga

and its place in our world, in our lives and its principles as a roadway towards

an ultimate purpose.  The question arised:

Is Kundalini Yoga compatible with religions?

Better yet, the question came:

Are religions compatible with Kundalini Yoga?

I will share with you my thoughts.

Yoga is our relationship with the Infinite. The union of the person´s

consciousness with the Infinite Consciousness, which already exists.  Yoga is

the merging of the human consciousness with the Supreme Consciousness, until it

merges with the Infinite Self.  We just have to become aware of it.

Rumi wrote " Listen to the way this reed flute grieves, telling stories of its

separations. "

Kundalini Yoga is not a religion.  Kundalini Yoga is a technology of awareness

that provides a map, an instruction manual, for human consciousness.

To quote from Yogi Bhajan: " The human mind is potentially Infinite and

Creative.  But in practical reality it is limited.  So a technical know-how is

required through which one can expand his mind to bring about the equilibrium

that enables him to control his physical structure and experience his Infinite

Self. "

" I am he whom I desire, whom I desire is I;

we are two spirits dwelling in a single body.

If you see me, you have seen him,

and if you see him, you have seen us. "   Hallaj

A certain belief system is not needed to fully experience the Self.  The Law of

Gravity exists whether we believe in it or not.  The Sun will shine upon us

whether we feel it or not. The technology of Kundalini Yoga itself will bring us

to experience our potential as human beings so that we can transmute knowledge

into wisdom.  The religious will better understand the transcendental aspects of

religion, and the irreligious will better understand the transcendental aspects

of his living.  But at the end, we will all come to the same Realization.  " Our

existence is nothing but consciousness.  If our existence is nothing but

consciousness, where is the difficulty?  The difficulty is that we are not

conscious of our consciousness. "   Yogi Bhajan.

Hazrat Inayat Khan said " Through matter the soul attains to its highest

realization; therefore, the physical body is a neccessity for the fulfillment of

its purpose. "

It is said that through yogasana, the body prepares for meditation, for that

receptive moment when God speaks to mankind.

" A true seeker is one who will seek God in his heart. "   Yogi Bhajan

I hope this helps in your contemplation.

Sat Naam!

Sat Nam!

Yoga is pure technology: it doesn't need to know if you (we) believe in God,

Jesus, Shiva or Buddha or if you (we) are muslim or not to work.

You (we) can be tall or short, asian or european, young or old......yoga

will work depending on how you (we) keep up with your (our) pratice

A religion asks us to believe (we need faith), Yoga asks us to make our own

experience (we need pratice)!

Yogi Bhajan was a Sikh but I never read a single word where he tried to push

someone to sikh religion in order to have results in the yoga pratice!

Asif:

The Yes in my previous message is my answer to the overall question.  Yes,

anyone will benefit from the technology of awareness that Kundalini Yoga is.

The Yes is not refering directly to a religion-based question..  There is a huge

difference between religious and spiritual.

I apologize if confusion was formed by it.

Dear Asif,

Thanks for asking. Yes, most definitely, everyone can do and benefit greatly

from the practice of Kundalini yoga and chanting the mantras. This is universal

technolgy and a gift to everyone, independent of any religious or non-religious

affiliations.

I remember Yogi Bhajan telling us -- if your are a Christian, this practice will

make you a better Christian. If you are a Muslim, this practice will make you a

better Muslim. Etc.

Whatever you are and want to be, Kundalini yoga and meditation help you achieve

your personal inner connection with God. And that is what all religions are

about.

So go for it and cultivate you special relationship with God.

Let us know how you are progressing.

Many blessings,

Guru Rattana :+)
