I am permanetly disabled by left-side paralysis, which makes the postures of

Kundalini yoga impossible. I am, however, able to meditate and find it very

helpful. What does this mean in terms of my ability to practice Kundalini

yoga?

I am happy that I can meditate. So that's what I do

plus PRANAYAMA.

Sat Nam,

No matter the state of your physical body, if you are still breathing you can do

something. The body needs to be nourished with the breath, mantra and self

love.

Our body can be activated and nurtured by doing the exercises internally.

Visualization creates some activation, but actually moving the muscles

internally creates a lot of stimulation. You can do a whole set with

visualization, internal awareness and actual subtle movement of muscles. It is

very powerful. Include the 'active' exercise and the passive relaxation for

every exercise. You can feel very refreshed afterwards.

Working with the locks is also very important to activate the spine and the

chakras.

There is a rich inner world waiting to be awakened and explored.

Blessings,

Guru Rattana :+)

Sat nam,

What about ALS, when the person has very little control over the muscles and

even the breath?  Can someone recommend a kriya for a person in this condition?

Or perhaps a kriya or a mantra that a caretaker can do to help or give comfort?

Thank you so much,

Hanspreet Kaur

Sat Nam!

One Soul!

Yogasanas and energy work prepare the body for meditation. But

meditation is Meditation!

I have heard that disabled persons can not do Kundalini Yoga. Lets

contemplate on it for a moment as we look at the totality of Kundalini

Yoga, Yogic Philosophy and our ability to awaken the Consciousness.

This may be a limited view of the wholeness of Kundalini Yoga.

The All is One.

Yogi Bhajan said, " If one will realize God, then he will become God.

What is realization? When you become that which you realize. "

The Ashtang Mantra is the mantra for this Kal Yug Age. Chant and

Meditate on this mantra, with Neck Lock, and the Divine and You will be

One. With beneficial Prana movement, the Laya Yoga Meditation works in

the Ten Bodies. And lets not forget the Isht Sodhana Mantra Kriya.

Meditation is not to enjoy life and the attributes of our choices.

Meditation is when God speaks to us, when we realize our Oneness, and

with unattachment, experience Life with the only purpose to be United

with the Divine.

Having said that, let me shift your attention to the Grace of Guru. The

Grace of Guru and the realization of God within may be all that is

necessary.

Ramakrishna (1836-86) indicated that the jnani experiences

God-consciousness within himself. To the jnani, the whole universe is

illusory, like a dream; he is always established in the Reality of Self.

But the bhakti, singing the names and glories of God, sees it slightly

different. The lover of God flows in all directions, laughing and

weeping, dancing, chanting and singing in ecstacy of God. According to

Ramakrishna, the path for this age is bhaktiyoga, the path of bhakti

prescirbed by Narada: " to sing the name and glories of God and pray to

Him with a longing Heart " . That is a reason why in the Kaliyuga, the

life of mankind is centered on the manifested creation (Prakirti) and

the necessities to sustain our bodies, a comlex of animated matter, body

and ego, dancing in duality: Soul and Matter. That is why the path of

devotion is prescirbed for this cycle.

Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Awareness. I have heard that it only

takes one Kriya, one Meditation, done right, to be Aware.

To travel through this Age, we must return to the same awareness of the

original Age of Innocence when man was one with the Divine. Thus the

Mantra given by the Master as he became One with the Lord, by Grace:

Ek Ong Kaar Sat Naam Siri Wahe Guru. " One Creator created this

Creation. Truth is His Name. Great beyond description His Infinite

Wisdom. "

Sat Nam!
