Guest guest
Sat Nam, My husband sometimes does yoga with me, about once or twice a week. He has reported a couple of times that he has felt as if his tongue were electrically charged. wow, I've never felt that. Last time was this past weekend, we were doing the Kundalini super set on the Quick Fixes dvd by Ravi and Ana. We did a sequence that had cat/cow which was followed by 2 mulbandas 1st with the breath held out and then with breath held in. He said after the 1st mulbanda he felt this sensation of electric tongue. I just thought that was interesting and wanted to share. I have felt blissful, but never electric tongue. Not that I'm striving for that, just wanted to share with you all and see if anyone had any thoughts on this or other stories to share. Peace, Sail
Guest guest
The nadi of the tounge and that which the shakti flows are connected. As to one reason Khachari Mudra is used, the tipe of tounge touching the roof of the mouth. This is like a turn on switch for both the shakti energy and the micro-cosmic orbits. Guest guest
Thanks Charles, funny, my husband's name is Charles too. It's also kind of funny that he doesn't really believe all this " energy stuff " but he's the one with the electric tongue. LOL Does that mean he should touch the tongue to the top of the mouth when he gets this sensation?....And get his energy " turned on " ? And what are the micro-cosmic orbits? Guest guest
That depends on the two of your studies. I would say that you should both always use this mudra during your kriyas and meditation exercise until you are sitting in silent (do nothing) meditation. I would ask your 3HO instructor if you have one. I study a slightly different form of Kundalini Yoga today. The micro-cosmic orbit is an exercise that the Taoist do for energy cultivation, storing and rejuvenation using the front and back nadi channels. Guest guest
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I think I'll try using that mudra and recommend it to my husband and see where that takes us. We don't have a 3HO teacher, I wish we did, but alas we live in the midwest where there is a lack of Kundalini yoga teachers. So, for that reason, I am espescially grateful for this board and for all those wonderful souls who have been putting up the teachings on the internet. Wahe guru! Guest guest
Sat Nam Charles, Ok, I said I wasn't really striving for electric tongue myself and just thought it was interesting. But today I went ahead and tried the tongue lock while I was doing my yoga. I tried it twice while I was doing bof and I think I might have felt the same thing. Maybe just cause I was thinking about it, I don't know, but it felt like poprocks where my tongue touched the roof of my mouth. Interesting..... Guest guest
Kechari Mudra is a very important mudra. It links the Governing and Conception vessels helping to balance the Ida and Pingala allowing for shakti to flow up the Sushumma. The tip of the tongue's nadi is directly connected to the perineum. MAIN CHANNEL PATHWAY The Governing Vessel originates from the uterus (or deep inside the lower abdomen in men) and goes to the perineum where it emerges. It then ascends on the midline all the way up the back and neck to Fengfu GV 16 where it eners the brain. It then ascends then vertex and downs the front of the face to the upper lip. The Conception Vessel originates from the uterus (or deep in the lower abdomen in men) and emerges at the perineum. It runs anteriorly to the pubic region and all the way up to the throat along the midline of the body. From the throat it ascends to curve around the lips and up to the eyes to meet the Stomach channel at the point Chengqi ST 1. This two channels run the length of the back and front side of Sushumma, which is the channel/nadi that the cerebral spinal fluid flows. When the Ida and Pingala are in balance and the cerebral spinal fluid ionicly charged it flows up the spine and fluids the brain, opening dormant brain cells. This is the science of the kundalini experience and the awakening of the crown chakra. The Ida on the left is generally associated with the moon, white in color, and with the prana or rising vital breath, semen and Shiva (male) ; the Pingala on the right with the sun, the color red, blood or ovum and Shakti (female). The Ida is also sometimes associated with the prana or rising vital breath, and the Pingala with the apana or descending breath.
