Guest guest
Sat Nam! This email is in response to querries about KY. Yes, it would take a book to answer all these questions. So I will answer the one on the descent. Partly because I am writing a book on the topic and teaching workshops on the topic. Also because the question amused me -- Are be back to square one? The answer is no. We are progressing on our path toward liberation, which requires both the ascent and the descent. The Ascent and the Descent On the ascent, we open our channels so that we can (1) connect with the universal field and its qualities, (2) establish sacred space inside our neutral mind, and (3) awaken to the light of our soul. However, the ascent is only half our journey. To complete the cycle, the ascent must be followed by the descent. While in a human body our mission is to embody the universal qualities. On the descent, our chakras open as we activate their highest expressions and qualities into our character and integrate their powers and potential into our behavior, thoughts, speech, feelings and actions. ? The purpose of the ascent is to wake up to our divine essence. Once we have enough Light to see the Truth, we can use this higher frequency to clear away the bad habits that we accumulated while we were asleep. ? The ascent offers us an experience of who we really are, so we don't take our wounds so seriously. Once we have tasted the simplicity and the magnificence of our soul, it is easier to release our identification with attitudes and characteristics that are simply survival programming and reclaim our divine identity. ? The descent is the grounding and the cleansing process--obviously not the most popular phase of our maturation process. However, facing our dark (underdeveloped) side is the only way to claim our power. ? The descent not only unleashes our personal power; it gives us the ability to manifest from our soul identity. The clearing and conscious use of the lower three chakras allows us to tap our personal creativity. ? Grounded in our soul identity, we are able to use our special gifts as the inner capital to support ourselves and to make our unique contribution to the world. A touch of this possibility unleashes a passion for life, transforms our attitude of struggle into passionate challenge, and opens our hearts to others and ourselves. These topics are covered in some of my streaming video class on Guru Rattana On-line. see www.yogatech.com So get busy on the descent. It is a required part of our human journey. Blessings, Guru Rattana :+)
Guest guest
I would like to share my experience of the descent as I could really use a sounding board, and I welcome any input from others regarding their own experience, as well. I am a 26 yr old female. I began my hatha yoga practice a few years ago, and now I have turned to the masters of the kundalini to guide me on my path. I began experiencing the descent, and to say the least, I was initially a bit frigthened that perhaps my energy centers could not be unblocked. Some abuse traumas in my childhood experience began surfacing and I could feel the expression of the pain I had for so long burried in the unconscious. In my childhood, lucid dreaming gave my soul strength and power, but during my adulthood the darkness and nightmares only increased. At 21 I moved away from the abusive dynamic I was in, and perhaps not so ironically, fell into a long term relationship with a man, who I found out has two family members who comitted similar crimes of abuse. This led me to feel as if I have been cursed or led into a situation that was meant to destroy me. It certainly did feel as if I was being destroyed. It was shocking to find myself in a situation I wished to be away from. Confusion about whether or not I am meant to be with this man consumed me. I have now begun seeing how my life decisions have been feuled by fear. Now that I have been steadily practicing kundalini yoga, especially the kriyas for self-love, the illusion that once guided my physical mind and body seems to be lifting. My practice began to show me that what I once believed to be my intuition was in fact dysfunctional programming. Acknowledging this fact has helped me feel strong and also help me to detach myself from anger and fear. I am still not sure what the reason for my current situation is, if things are right, if I was just meant to experience this relationship to make me face my own issue, or I will have to find a new life for myself, but I understand that I must love myself and know that god will guide me and protect me during this time.
