Guest guest
sat nam all! i have a ton of questions that i'm posting all at once. if you can answer one or all, that would be so excellent! right now, one of my biggest questions is summer solstice. time and money have recently opened up the opportunity to go, and i am nervuos about being a first-timer (although i guess any time would be my first time!) and not knowing anyone. can someone tell me about their first-time experience? i am also trying to commit to my first 40-day set (trying cause i've already had to start over once) following my first WTY experience. again--if someone could take me through the process, mental and spiritual, of taking a 40-day set from setting the intention to completion, i'd really appreciate it. i made it all of three days before a supposed nap turned into an overnight experience, and was actually pretty bummed. the set that i am doing is awakening to your 10 bodies. i love to have kirtan and chanting playing while i'm doing it, and was thinking it might be a great idea to have body-specific music playing as i go. can someone direct me to a list of chants that correlate to certain bodies? much, much appreciated! jessie (hari avtar) san diego
Guest guest
Sat Nam Jessie, We do a 40 day kundalini yoga boot camp up in Los Angeles and also do some weekend intensives about setting the foundation for a practice with a 40 day meditation and yoga. I've put up information about how the 40 days works, etc., here: http://kundaliniyogabootcamp.com/yoga-bootcamp/faq/ You can also email me through the site if you have further questions about the dynamics of it. Guest guest
Sat Nam, I've never been to Summer Solstice, so I can't help you with that.... But I've been doing 40 day sadhanas for almost a year, not that long but I have a little insight now. Do it early in the day, then it's done and you don't have to worry about it anymore. Just do it. It's not a question of if your gonna do it but when, so just do it now. Don't be bummed, just think of those three days as practice, usually when I get to the end of 40 days, I just want to keep going anyway, so no big loss. If you've got company your not comfortable doing it around or if you are traveling, definitely recommend doing it first thing when you get up in the morning. Then it's done. Also, you can chant mentally if you don't want to draw attention to yourself. Keep Up and you will be Kept up! Wahe Guru!
