Sat Nam Akkama,

There is diet Yogiji gave a friend of mine for his hemorrhoids.

Nothing but steamed beets and yogurt, is what my memory says. I'll get

the actual details when I see him next. What I remember Yogiji saying is

that one has to work to clear the liver/liver meridian in order to

effect the remedy, hence the beets, and that one can never really " cure "

hemorrhoids, just control them.

More later,

A few morning dew drops of advise:

Diet, diet, diet, fiber, fiber, fiber, water, water, water.

Don´t strain, don´t push while squatting.  Relax instead.

Watch your Bandhas but especially your Mulbandh.  We have the tendency to push

rather than pull-in.  Similarly, watch your Sat Kriya.

Be very aware of the postures and your breathing pattern during Kriyas.

Emphasize Kriyas with Vajrasana (Rock Pose) postures.

The hemorrhoidal plexus is very sensitive to changes in pressure (push).  Be

conscious when unconsciously putting pressure in the lower areas during a Kriya

or Meditation.

This becomes a very hard tasking especially for the beginner student who

overdoes the Navel Point exercises and the Bandhas.

Hope this helps.

Sat Nam Ji,

It's all about management. From an ayurvedic perspective, it can be due to any

dosha or combination, so I would have a practicioner examine it - I would

recommend someone with an energetic approach to nutrition.

In the meantime you could use some Triphala Guggulu (if you're in the US I would

recommend Banyan:

http://www.banyanbotanicals.com/prodinfo.asp?number=2061 & variation= & aitem=15 & mit\

em=23). TG is indicated in any type of hemorrhoid.

Externally you can apply some turmeric and castor oil (keep in mind the turmeric

will stain clothing).
