Guest guest
Sat nam - Has anyone experienced this? I have been practicing the kirtan kriya for 47 days now and this just started happening two or three days ago - just the fingers and thumb of my right hand. Guest guest
Sat Nam Numbness in the fingers may be secondary to median nerve irritation or even radial nerve. Similar to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, any repetitive motion that does not allow for adequate relaxation in-between the contraction of the muscles, may lead to inflamation and irritation, especially in this area where there is not much space as the nerves compete to pass through the wrist. There are several things that you should check. 1. Posture, be sure you are not hyperextending the elbow or the wrist. Similarly, be sure your wrist is in-line with the forearm. At this level, if it is your thumb and index or middle finger, it may be the median nerve. After you have aligned the wrist with forearm, try to feel the difference on how it feels at the wrist. At the forarm level, if hyperextended you may be straining the extensor and abductor pollicis muscles and tendons that go down from middle forearm to the thumb. Once again, check posture.. 2. Lighten up the finger tip pressure as you go to index and middle finger. Sometimes when we apply pressure, if in rotation with the wrist, we may cause inflamation. So basically ease up on the fingertip pressure. 3. You may want to put a little bit of flexion at the wrist level. This will ease off the nedial and radial nerves. Hope this helps Sat Nam Adi Singh --- On Tue, 6/2/09, vansavages <vansavages wrote: vansavages <vansavages Kundalini Yoga fingers going numb with kirtan kriya?
