Guest guest
Satnam, I have had the same problem and tried everyting. Accupuncture 3 times a week and ky yoga is what worked best for me. After 7 years those disk's will fuse naturally as long as you do not reinjure yourself. Guest guest
Any facing downward, lift chest/arms (with arms at the side) and straight legs (slowly, and only using muscles, not pushing yourself up will help strengthen back muscles and gradually move the disk back. Lying on the side and slowly lifting both legs together can help also. (very similar to what you might learn from a Physical Therapist). This might take awhile -- 6 months or more -- to help, but you might feel some pain relief immediately. Also, you might consider getting Gary Kraftsow's book on Viniyoga -- it is Yoga Therapy, and he has many routines for back issues. Some moves and poses you really want to avoid, so some KY will be beneficial, others might actually make things work. Here's a great relief -- lie on your back with you calves (bottoms of the legs) on a flat chair, knees bend 90 degrees. You can put a small pillow under you head if it feel more comfortable -- just lie there as long as you have time for -- even while watching TV -- it will feel very good on your back. Also, if you do anything that really aggravates the condition (and are in lots of pain) ice the area for 10 minutes. Guest guest
Sat Nam SG, I am at work so this will be brief but I will write more later. All your spinal flexes are very good (in easy pose, in rock pose and also sitting on the floor with the soles of your feet together while you do the spinal flexes - this is a harder position) You can even do them in a chair if you are at work. I have even done them with my legs out straight in front of me but this I had to work up to. Baby pose is a good tension releaver and rest position to do and so is the rocking position where you lay on your back and bend your knees into your chest and wrap your arms around your legs then rock back and forth ( you can even go side to side with this to loosen up those muscles; it makes a nice massage). The cat and the cow position is great for loosening up the back and also strengthing it. There is a long list but these are some of my favorites. Hope that this helps.
