I have joined the group recently and am happy to see that I am in the right

place.

ABOUT ME.

I am 74 years old Technocrat of Indian origin. I live in a East Asian Country

and am comfortably retired. I have been doing Yoga for over 15 years, Pranayaam

(Breathing exercises) for nearly 4 years. This is a branch of Yoga and I have

benefitted immensely physically from it. My BP, Blood Sugar, Cholesterol,

Triglyceride have improved and are well within limits.

I have done Kundalini Yoga during last 5 years without much success and

therefore the practice was not regular. Good thing is that I have full faith in

the Kundalini Yoga. I have tried to find the reaons for my failures and as per

my own reasoning and advise of some learned people they appear to be as follows.

1. I was doing Yoga with a strong desire to raise Kundalini Energy and was

therefore easily disheartened when nothing happened.

2. I always tended to concentrate on the third eye area and took my failure to

concentrate rather too seriously.

3. I tried to do Yoga in many time settings but did not make a fixed routine.

Well these are my thaughts only and my Friends on the list, who have valuable

experience will surely help me on the right path.

Looking forward to a happy experience at this wonderful list.

Speaking from experience-just don't give up! I am restarting my practice

of Kundalini Yoga after too long of not doing it.

I have found now just how much the simplest actions make a very big

difference.

I am in a situation where there is no place to do asanas. However, just

doing the breathing has benefited me immensely.

Funny how now that I can't do Kundalini Yoga, it is all I think about!

Sat Nam!

Welcome back! I've been blessed to have found an instructor that emphasizes the

energy flow of all chakras, with emphasis on various ones each week. Although

her 6 week heart chakra series was incredibly life changing for me.

I practice sadhana each morning at 5:15, and have completed a 40 day " So Hung "

kriya. By doing sadhana each morning, it " sets " my day. The difference has been

a profound process. After yoga, I spend time looking at my statements on my

vision board. Some of my visions have been realized.

Well, my husband & I are off to a couples KY class this morning.

Blessings!

I am always restarting and stopping.

I don't understand why I don't stick with it.

All my life there has been something wrong in my head that leads me to bad

decisions and bad acts.

Only Kundalini Yoga has straightened out the mess in my head so I see and act

and relate clearly.

Even one session makes me feel good.

Yet I stop.

Well this group has always been a support to me, and once again, reading these

posts I wonder - why not do it and stay with it?

Dear Kartar Kaur,

Answers to the past 'why' will come when and if it does. In the mean

time, it is a new day. Start new, today. Invite someone to join you

in a 7 day, 40 day, 90 day, 1,000 (daunting!) day practice. Allow

every day to bring you something new.

I am the same way. I told myself I'd try for 40 days, of course, I haven't.

I told myself that I'd not get down on myself, and just start over, but I

haven't done that either. Like you, I always feel so much better even after

one session. How do we get over this?

Sat Nam;

I have been diagnosed with mental illness-speaking of " something in your

head! " . I keep kicking myself since I think that if only-------

Anyway-this is now and I am here.

It helps to communicate with someone having a similar experience.

I have started doing the Breathwalk. Learning from the book. I don't have

the author's name with me, but I reccommend it highly. I walked about 6

miles today and must have said Sat Nam a thousand times!

Yours in loving devotion to our path.

Sat Nam Sherri! Could I ask what classes were included in your

teacher's 6 week heart series.

I teach a class and I'm always looking for " new " material.

Thanks,

Sat Nam,

When I started Kundulini Yoga, what helped me get some steadiness and helped me

go for the first 40 days was - what seemed like a small commitment - Kirtan

Kriya for 11 minutes each day, for 40 days. It is only 11 minutes, but it helped

me clear the karmic baggage that I had to clear before being able to establish

the next 40 days practice. God help you find the key to your first 40 days

practice :). If you think my key could help, there is a very good presentation

of Kirtan Kriya Meditation on www.youtube.com.

Sat Nam friends.......and thank you for sharing so truthfully about your

difficulties, as this has helped to bolster my own flagging participation, and

my discouraged feelings about that.

I was homeless for a period of six months, and have for a few months now been

settling into a new place. I have an active and busy new life, with lots of

travelling, and I remember what peace and happiness KY used to give me when I

was practicing regularly. It is hard in this situation to make priorities, for

everything seems to need to be a priority, LOL. Yet, I am more at peace in the

present chaos when I read that others too, are having difficulty with

stick-to-it-iveness, LOL. May the spirits be with us, and guide us to joy.

Namaste Friends
