RE: Kundalini Yoga cronic slip disk

Any facing downward, lift chest/arms (with arms at the side) and straight

legs (slowly, and only using muscles, not pushing yourself up will help

strengthen back muscles and gradually move the disk back. Lying on the side

and slowly lifting both legs together can help also. (very similar to what

you might learn from a Physical Therapist). This might take awhile -- 6

months or more -- to help, but you might feel some pain relief immediately.

Also, you might consider getting Gary Kraftsow's book on Viniyoga -- it is

Yoga Therapy, and he has many routines for back issues.

Some moves and poses you really want to avoid, so some KY will be

beneficial, others might actually make things work.

Here's a great relief -- lie on your back with you calves (bottoms of the

legs) on a flat chair, knees bend 90 degrees. You can put a small pillow

under you head if it feel more comfortable -- just lie there as long as you

have time for -- even while watching TV -- it will feel very good on your

back.

Also, if you do anything that really aggravates the condition (and are in

lots of pain) ice the area for 10 minutes.
