Guest guest
Sat Nam! I have no experience about this topic but I've found something on " Yoga for Health and Healing " : - Epilepsy (up to 31 min) Sit on your left heel, right leg over the left, left* foot flat on the floor in hero pose. The hands are cupped, little fingers touching along their length, in front of the chest as if you were about to receive an offering. Chant like this continuously: SAA TAA NAA MAA. Continue for up to 31 min (3 and 11 min are two good stopping places). Comments: This meditation is helpful in cases of epilepsy and for headaches. * I think it should be the right foot (maybe a misprint), since you are on you're left heel. I hope this helps you. Are there any particular kriyas, meditations or yogic techniques that other have found to be successful in treating epilepsy? Thank you in advance for your offerings, Suzanne

Guest guest
Sat Nam Suzanne, My understanding is that Shiva Singh Khalsa from Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago cured his epilepsy through Kundalini Yoga. He may be a good person to reach out to. http://www.spiritrisingyoga.com/PublicContent.aspx?page=BIO-About-Shiva-Singh-Kh\ alsa & folder=Teachers PS
Guest guest
Sat Nam Suzanne, My 2 year old son struggles with Epilepsy also. Along with baby yoga, we have done much in the biomedical arena, which has helped him immensely. Nutrition is a HUGE component of epilepsy for many people. For example, removal of all grains from the diet has helped many people to completely eliminate seizures. Unfortunately I cannot provide much in yogic advice, but I am decently versed in the natural and alternative treatments for epilepsy. If you or this young woman are interested please email me at hartmandrea God bless you and your friend, Andrea Kundalini-Yoga , " suzanne_winlove " <suzanne_winlove wrote: > > Does anyone have yogic advise for a 22 year old girl that has epilepsy, as to how to manage it that they would be so kind as to share? Guest guest
Dear Andrea, This is excellent. Please keep a journal and keep us posted on your successes and failures in this realm. If this is a journal, it is your experience NOT medical advice. This information is needed. Satnam. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Here's a post about the disease and it supports the information from my previous email. " Re:Epilepsy and Kundalini Yoga A tiny thing comes to mind.. When Yogi Bhajan visited here in 1999, he recommended to a student with epilepsy that she do slow breath of fire because this works on the parasympathetic nervous system.
