Guest guest
I am finding some of the kriyas I'm doing currently to be very hard on my neck. Particularly, the cat/cow where the head moves from tucked to flex with the rounding and scooping of the spine along with the extension and drawing in of the leg. I feel like a heavy metal headbanger when I go as fast as my body wants to go. I've noticed this kriya seems to burn out my anger. It brings it up and takes it right out. Really emotional. I've had a headache for a few days now, and my neck is really sore. Can I modify, or should I just push on? Thanks, Kelli
Guest guest
Kelly, maybe you should give your head a rest for a couple days and work in some other exercises instead, just to rest the neck. There are some kriyas that I can't do everyday or they make me sore or out of whack. I think maybe you're just overdoing it. You could also try just slowing it down some. Guest guest
Hi Kelli You asked if you should modify or just push on...I wouldn't push. Consider doing another set until your neck heals... please be very mindful of protecting your neck. also, be aware to breathe properly. What set are you doing? Doing cat/cow should not put a strain on your neck unless you are over extending it or going so fast that its being whipped all over the place. As with all our postures start off nice & slow so that you can be aware of what you are doing & what muscles you are using. Then as you warm up you pick up the pace. This does not mean to be a " head banger " going off, it means to pick up the pace minfully, staying connected to your body & what it is doing. Please don't " whip " the head up and down, that may be how you hurt your neck...or you over extended it. Nice steady pace & stay connected. hope this helps ~ Sat Naam Jiwan Shakti Kaur > " hillfolkmama " <kudzumountain wrote: > > > > I am finding some of the kriyas I'm doing currently to > be very hard on my neck.
