Guest guest
Hi, I'm a clairaudient telepath (gained through buddhist practice not yoga) but this also comes with a great deal of sensitivity, aggatation and intolerance to noise, especially high pitched ones. I become overstimulated and my mind tires easily. My impression of the spiritual path is that siddhi shouldn't be harmful and that they're a gift. Does this mean I have a brain chemical imbalance? Or, Am I over focusing on the sense of sound instead of using the throat chakra to gain this particular ability? Oddly this ability got overwhelming when I started reading out loud to myself which increased my listening skill.
Guest guest
Hi cindycherryberry, I think you asked a very complex question. Meditation and KY change your brain structure. Consciousness in general and human consciousness in particular are mysteries. When I think of Siddhi, I often think of the significant ones (like flying or being in multiple places at once). I think what you are describing is a form of a minor Siddhi. While I'm sure that medication can dull the sensations you mention, it really depends on whether you want to integrate them into your life or reject them. From your email I sense you are at something of a crossroads. Life doesn't always present us with " normal " and while KY and other disciplines are therapeutic, it is more in the sense of sensing/accepting/becoming what you are. So questions like " is it real, is it valid, is it good, is it bad, is it powerful, is it nothing, is it sickness, is it health " are all questions that your ego is asking. As you know from your buddhism any time your ego asks those questions, it is really a manifestation of maya. You hear what you hear, you see what you see, you touch what you feel, you think what you think, you have emotions as you have emotions. If your intuition has evolved into synthesia, then that has happened too. At what point a consciousness has become too disconnected and unable to control the brain, that's for an expert to decide. No answers here. I find this group to be valuable for KY techniques if you already know how you want to use it. Experimenting to balance the chakras might be valuable and I'm sure there are others who can recommend practices (kriya) to do that. I'd look for something in the lower three personally. Voice and hearing are inter-related (as you say) but, as usual, in a complex way. My view it's better to build the body forces up first. Guest guest
Hi Jeff, Thank you for your reply. I guess I'm searching for a way function at work. I don't consider myself to be healthy if I end up massively overstimulated. My original goal was always on enlightment. However, I definitely would want to keep the abilities and possibly use them to help me deal with others in a way that frees them from suffering. There seems to be no way to shut off a siddhi. The cat is out of the bag and I can't erase my new views of reality. If there is a way to safely be inherently omniscient then pretty much nothing like consciousness would be a mystery as there wouldn't be anything that I don't know...I can do this in a very limited sense right now. I need to find a way to come in and out of the state that causes the siddhi. Based on what I'm going through it doesn't feel like it's healthy for the mind to always be extracting info...some gland is over acting. I'm disillusioned...not exactly at a cross roads. The Zen idea of being free from suffering is that you need to stop wanting to be free from it. Samsara is Nirvana. Yay. I understand enlightenment from an intellectual point of view but don't feel like I'm free. I'm full of ego clinging and getting tangled up in thoughts no matter what I do. I've never seen any world class siddhi like telekinesis or flying but I won't rule it out.
