Guest guest
Sat Nam, It's in the Aquarian Teacher Trainer's Level I Manual. I'd also suggest doing a search here for tips, advice and deeper insights after you check the manual. There have been hundreds of posts regarding this meditation on this board. -FS

Guest guest
Sat Nam Riya! Each "Wahe G'ru" is three distinct pulls in of the navel as the mantra is mentally chanted. One thing that has helped me as I progress in my 1000-day concentration of this is: after you inhale into the left nostril, hold both nostrils closed with your thumb and forefinger as you do the Wahe G'rus, then exhale out the right. Something about holding the nose makes it easier to concentrate mentally and also to be able to hold the breath the whole time. Guest guest
Thank you for the tip! But I was just wondering - don't the arms get tired holding the nose throughout. I read somewhere that it is ok to rest your right hand on your knee in between the exhale and inhale. Thanks! RiyaOn Sun, Dec 20, 2009 at 4:27 PM, Wambezi Ungowa <premdevkaur wrote: Sat Nam Riya! Guest guest
Certainly you may put your hand down, and also while you're pumping your navel. The hand is not the what is being worked on here, so it's whatever works for you on these minor issues of technique. Guest guest
Speaking from personal experience, sodarshan chakra kriya is really powerful. Amazing. I wonder, though, about declaring any kriya as universally " most " powerful. I'm sure there are others on this list who can speak more intelligently that I on this, but it seems that a more relevant question is: what's the most powerful kriya for you at this spot in your journey? That said, Sodarshan Chakra Kriya's effects are stunning. If the pharmecuetical companies could bottle it, they'd make a mint! lol. Guest guest
powerful yes indeed. i did 900 days of it. start with 5 mins. and proceed slowly the slower the better. Very cool you´ll have to do it to find out. In time the effects lessoned. In older yoga manuals- shatkarmas-or purification practices are perscribed-one very similar to colonic irragation and sitting must be mastered before pranayama practices are undertaken. Physical purification must come first. Raw foods might be a good addition to your kundalini practice for this purpose, occasionally eating cooked food for grounding purposes- Pranayams acheive the fastest results but you can get overwhelmed cleaning your mind too quickly. your mind will rebel and tell you it´s not working...continue until day 40 and you´ll experience results. -Sat Nam -Chris ________________________________ jose rodriguez <rocketrodz Kundaliniyoga Tue, March 16, 2010 1:50:14 PM Re: Kundalini Yoga sodarshan chakra kriya None and All! --- On Tue, 3/16/10, expertofexpert <expertofexpert@ > wrote: expertofexpert <expertofexpert@ > Kundalini Yoga sodarshan chakra kriya Kundaliniyoga Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 2:55 AM is it true that sodarshan chakra kriya is the most powerful meditation ? and if not what is the most powerful meditation? Guest guest
It's the favorite meditation of Gurutej and Ravi Singh, both of whom have done it for over 19 years- is that an endorsement or what? That being said, Yogi B had " strong praise " for many different meditations. You'll just have to experience it yourself. The suggestion about purification is something I hadn't heard before, but it makes sense, and you are suggested to be a Veggie if you do KY, which does leave you with cleaner innards automatically. So darshon, kirtan, and sat kriya are said to be the top 3, and they are very, very different. But I've had the most powerful experience to date with Shabad kriya, which just goes to show...it's your experience. Guest guest
I did this one for 900 days. The effects lessened in time- as with most KY kriyas. With raw foods they tell you to have colonic irrigation to clean out the deeper levels of toxicity 1 month otherwise you´re constantly bathing yourself in old toxins and you get older faster..cause you´re body can´t keep up with pushing out the toxins...I suspect it is the same with pranayam in the beginning you clear out some of the mental garbage for the first time and you feel great, but in the pranayam or kriya stirs up so much junk that it´s hard to get the mental clarity of the first 120 days or 180 days of the meditation if you´re not doing shatkarmas..or most of the vital energy is going to purify your body and not your mind. What was missing for me was a sustained projection of the neutral mind, or perhaps I blocked myself in expecting a result. The practice that YB left us was amazing however there´s a missing link. I think kundalini gives gifts and wisdom...but also it is an intelligent force..that takes away gifts when the individual wants to use it´s power for selfish reasons. The universe isn´t just going to give you gifts and power on tap just because you did the kriya...you must show that you´re worthy. Character and virtue must also become a part of our practice. Maybe is wasn´t worthy. Raw vegan foods seem to be a key part to a spiritual practice and maintaining an alkaline blood ph. Eat alkalizing live foods for 10 days and write back to me. .Chris ________________________________ ramneetfl <ramneetfl Kundaliniyoga Wed, March 17, 2010 5:50:16 PM Re: Kundalini Yoga sodarshan chakra kriya It's the favorite meditation of Gurutej and Ravi Singh, both of whom have done it for over 19 years- is that an endorsement or what?
