Guest guest
Sat nam, ji.One of the most infamous yoga ordeals on an India yatra is reading the poem Japji in each of the 84 steps of the Goindwal Gurdwara, with a dip in the water tank after each reading. This experience can take a weekend - all day each day with minimual sleep. When in 2004 I taught civics to Miri Piri's seniors for a month after attending the Rishikesh Yoga Festival with Gurmukh, I accompanied the school on the Goindwal field trip. I completed only 33 steps. But even those many steps was an incredible, overwhelming experience for me.So, if anyone's thinkinking of going to India, please strongly consider going with someone to Goindwal, to chant japji for even 11 steps. Or try all 84!Click here and scroll down to see a picture of Goindwal's steps.http://miripiri.blogspot.com/Another link on Goindwal is here - this has a more comprehensive story (from Sangeet's Womenheart):http://www.healingsource.com/archive/2002/march/index.htmlWahe guru!Amar Atma Sucker-punch spam with award-winning protection.
