Guest guest
Dear Dharam, I want to affirm that you are absolutely correct to question, inquire, investigate, explore, and pursue issues in depth, no matter who makes claims, including the Siri Singh Sahib, or God himself/herself, until you are satisfied. Thank you for asking questions. This helps us all learn more and it is exactly what the Siri Singh Sahib taught us to do. Anyone who has written to tell you otherwise has not understood his teachings. I wanted to suggest that as you are questioning and making inquiries, you may try using a tactic we teach our security officers in Akal: “Do not draw conclusions or make or imply judgments during your inquiry. Maintain a neutral mind when you are asking questions and conducting your investigation.” When you asked your question, Dharam, a perfectly valid question that you were justified in asking, you could have said “Does anyone have a source for the " light of soul " translation?” and omitted the phrase “…or is that interpretation erroneous?” (which implies a judgment) and not gotten the reaction that you did. It was that phrase, which people judged as hostile. I did not interpret it that way because I understood your question was sincere, but if you modify your language when you ask questions, you can avoid this kind of reaction. That said, I also believe that whenever people react to a perceived, hostile judgment, it is done out of their own experience of hostility. People judged you as hostile and you received an onslaught of hostile reprimands. We do not need to defend perceived ignorant or hostile judgments by using irrational rhetoric. When we do, it continues a cycle of hostility. The facts are that no matter what we perceive as false judgments by anyone about the validity of the teachings of Kundalini Yoga given to us by Yogi Bhajan, the validity of these teachings will stand on their own merit and millions of peoples’ personal experience and thousands of years of evolution. If we look within every time we experience a hostile feeling and first heal ourselves, then we will be able to communicate without further inciting hostility and help others heal theirs. Sat Nam.
