My first spiritual teacher was a Shoshone-Cherokee Shaman named Rolling

Thunder. Some of you know and have probably met him. He and Yogi Bhajan

were together in Vancouver back in '76.

Rolling Thunder once said to the small group of us living on his

land ('77) that "a man has no business exposing himself to a full

moon". For the longest time I couldn't understand why he said that

until perhaps a year and a half later. I was in a place of a great

emotional clarity, accessibility and lightness. Simply being alive was

incredibly joyful. I was visiting a buddy at his apt. in NYC on the

17th floor, and I was standing about 3 inches away from a screen door

looking out at a Full Moon that was still pretty low in the sky. I

completely lost myself for a few moments/minutes and find myself being

subtly but physically pulled into the screen. It was much more than a

"sense". After all, the tides are driven by the moon. The Bay of Fundy

( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_of_Fundy ) rises some 17 meters

during a Full Moon, so what's the big deal with me being pulled three

inches? So what Rolling Thunder (RT is what we called him) had said to

us began to take on more importance.

So fast forward a couple of decades and I have come to a new

perspective. What RT was saying had to apply to men WITHOUT a beard. As

would be the case most Native Americans have very little facial hair,

if you haven't noticed (and it's not because Gillett has cornered that

market). Us men have two Moon Centers (women have 11), one in the

genitalia and one at the chin. Leaving the hair intact protects, for

lack of a better word, this center.

Yogiji taught us much about using times like this to leverage our

efforts at getting more deeply aligned. The Endocrine activity is

increased at this time (I fumble with the specifics). At any rate, if

you are still carrying old emotional baggage, this would be the time to

commit to its release.

March 3: Full Moon is Saturday March 3 at 4:17 PM Mountain Standard

Time with a total lunar eclipse at 3:45 PM (Mountain Time). This is an

incredibly powerful time to refine your intentions and to make some

decisions about how you might use the energy available to you this

month. Eclipses always accompany opportunities for great change. The

time between this eclipse and the next one on the 18th provides a

window for accelerated growth, change, creativity, manifestation, and

reaching for the next level of functioning.
