Guest guest
Ranbir Singh ji, Thanks man, you nailed it! There is not enough that can be said for simply relaxing and being happy with one another. "Spiritual beings having a Human experience". There's something in that about a need to acknowledge and embrace the "lower" chakras, and the human warmth and the sometime unbearable sense of connectedness that comes from that. I remember Yogiji saying, while observing a solstice crowd "they're not doing the emotional work". If we need to call it work, so be it. As long as it gets done. Maybe we could do recreation at Solstice's. I visualize boat races around the lake in Florida, "mandatory" raft trips for the adults, and/or paintball at Summer. I can be "in charge" of it ) Unless we are like children........................ Embracing the Sweet Mysteries, Dharam Singh Millis, MA "a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a turban!" ranbir wrote: As I read comments in Digest number 304, about News article, about vegetarian diet and lifestyle, I do not see commentators have "moved forward" from last 37 years in my experience with American Sikh community.I hope we learn post Yogi Bhajan. I like to share what I learned while travelling over 20 plus countries in last 16 years is that many million people world wide eat meat, drink alcohol, don't do yoga, and smoke. Neither, they sit on your their behinds all days long, don't do petty talk with each other or always are defensive in nature. Their mental state is healthy and vibrant. They do believe in their God. They live their lives while practicing their Faith. They trust their relations, friends, family and take active part in their small but vibrant communities. They want less and laugh allot. They think less and speak about what concerns their daily lives. They don't care about their stupid legacies and being immortal. They don't worry about being "forgotten" after their death. What I see when I sit with them and eat with them and sleep on their floors with their elders or family members, is they are happy to have each other's company. Their lives give me sense of 'Gratitude" while I am in their presence. I carry this "feeling of Gratitude" home to my family. What I don't see in these post, comments about people emotionally growing and sharing their daily wisdom with each other ( except Yoga and courses schedule, good information ) which they earned and experienced. I like to read about such people. They are "real" to me. The posts could from doing Yoga, any Yoga, Taking a walk out in the morning, sharing a moment with their friend who is going through a rough time but is learning about his/her self, and many other life's little wonders. What I do see is constant selling of Yogi Bhajan's wisdom which was his only. How is since 1969 no one came forward enlightened like him while he was alive and wanting his students to be"the teachers". Where were these "owners of his wisdom and legacy" ? How were they serving their own community? Did Khalsa community witness self less service from these spokes persons? Any time? How many people from Khalsa community can come forward who are not on their pay roll to attest to their humanity and self less service as so desired by Yogi Bhajan in his 30 plus years of self sacrifice. Now is the time, for us to move forward to learn about "you" and not about "me",Her" or "him". Most of us are in our late forties or even seventies. what a waste of time , our time, gift from God, to be wasted on some one else's words, techniques, or un proven facts. Why people get sucked in selling game of " you can be grater the you are" promise? Why? If it is said that Man/woman are God's image, then why this image is broken, incomplete? Why? Why other broken person telling another that he/she knows the remedy for how to "mend" you. Look deep in to them and see if their lives and psyche is whole and their lives are "content". Most of these teachers have high blood pressure, high cholesterol stiff joints, their heart don't function as well, they are near or are diabetic, they are fat, they have sleep apnea and many more conditions and ailments in the " you are getting old list". As long Yoga is taught as a exercise, it is wonderful technique. When teachers start to tell students he/she know their destiny and can change students" mental being with his technique, it is a deception. Are we being deceived because we want to be happy, healthy and holy?? Who is the best drug counselor? One who has kicked his own drug addition many years ago. Who are healthy Yoga teachers? Young one in their mid thirties and athletic or older one who look like they in their thirties with positive attitude. Smile:) . We must be vigilant about our quest to be happy and healthy while in deception, someone may dominate our common sense? You ask this question to you self. Find an answer for your sake. Be wise. No one is perfect. God did not create concept of perfection. It is a church / temple / religious "control concept" to control "our will" from discovering our destiny. God wants us to live.Be happy in "our little moments". Smile in "our little dreams". Enjoy flashing moments of joy, smile, laughter, or just a gentle touch of other person. This is "Kundal ( Round circle ) Lini ( with in ) Yog ( Union ) a ( effort /power). We should seek power with in our life circle instead from other's. I post my thoughts only to share and desire to know other people in these posts who are not coming forward to present their views. I reach out to you to come forward and be present. With out fear and with out enmity ( Nir Bhao ,Nir Ver ). This mantra is for the true Yogi... Satnam................. continues !
Guest guest
Sat Nam Ranbir & Everyone, Reading what you wrote below the other day struck a chord with me. In only the past year i have discovered Kundalini Yoga's transformational powers for myself and have begun the journey to become a Teacher. Jumping right in like i have, I have come smack up against all that had previously held me back. It has not been pretty. So much ugliness , hatred, and bile within, being excavated.. " cleaning out the garbage pit " not always fun! i also have begun to see how this conception of " perfection " is such a trap unless we come around to seeing EVERYTHING as perfection....Everyone, Everything, Good, BAD, Gross, Beautiful, ....Its all God right?! " If you can't see God in All , You can't see God at all! " I have been so hung up on what my mind deems " Perfect " ... Anyway, as I have been feeling the intense progress of the journey, There are parts of my mind that wants to put myself and Kundalini Yogis above the rest, or other ways to " God " . (I put God in quotes only because there are so many conceptions of the One). Reading your post about the Beauty in the small shared moments of life, and the millions of souls enjoying their many ways of life, was a nice reminder to a Truth I already knew...Remembering the importance of humility. I also want to express how wonderful it has been to discover the support of this email group! I've been silent up until now, but have been enjoying and benefiting from everyones unique take on things. Blessings to all.
